Parent Education Evening

Cyber Education: Our Relationship with Technology
Guest Speaker: Lori Getz, Cyber Education Specialist
Wednesday, January 13, 2016, 7 p.m. Room A-1 at Agoura High School
- Does your teen believe Sexting is normal?
- Are they deriving their self-worth from the number of likes they get on an Instagram photo?
- Are they too connected to Gaming or Social Media?
- Has your teen developed technology habits that affect sleep, their ability to learn and deal with conflict resolution?
- Does your teen understand the process of Data Mining? Their Digital Tattoos? Do they know how to protect themselves against identity thieves, trolls, and other cyber-predators? Do you?
- Are colleges and employers really looking at Social Media profiles and other online information?
Come explore these topics and find out what your teens wish you knew but don't know how to tell you. You will learn the truth about both the POSITIVE aspects of technology and how to avoid its pitfalls! By the end of the evening, you will have learned strategies and the language that will help break down walls and get everyone having more meaningful conversations about behavior in the digital world!
Even the most tech savvy parent will learn something NEW!
