Greetings, Charger families! 

Join us for our first Agoura High School Parent Faculty Club meeting on Wednesday, September 16!

The meeting will be at 9am at the Agoura Hills Library Community Room (we do this offsite so you can actually find a place to park). We serve good food, have great conversations and answer your burning questions. This month, we will introduce many of our AHS administrators and also welcome candidates running for LVUSD school board. The full agenda and committee reports can be found here.
 

Also on Wednesday, of course, is Back-to-School Night. We start off with special meetings by grade and then go into our classroom visits. See below for details.

We have no school on Monday, September 14 and a Late Start day on Thursday, September 17

Back to School Night
Back to School Night is scheduled for Wednesday, September 16,2015.  

Schedule
6:00-6:45p.m. Senior Parents Meeting, Gym 
This meeting is a must for all parents of seniors.  AHS Counselors will give you valuable information regarding the college application process which includes Naviance, deadlines, transcripts, testing and much more....
 Freshman Parents Meeting, PAEC 
This meeting will give Freshmen parents some useful tools and helpful information to assist them in navigating their student's first year of high school.

There is a lot to see - click here for the entire program of the evening.  PARENTS, there is also a schedule for your student to complete AND PRINT OUT before you come to AHS on Wednesday.
For Freshman Parents
You are invited to attend a Freshman Family Meeting. This meeting will provide helpful information for you and your student on what to expect over the next four years. The meeting will cover how to access your Aeries and Naviance accounts, graduation requirements, an introduction to colleges, and student and parent tips on how to be successful at Agoura High School. SAT ACT Prep
Worried about the new SAT? Didn't even know there was a New SAT? Confused about the difference between the PSAT, ACT and SAT? Don't be! 

AHS PFC and Kaplan have you covered - come to a FREE Parent Seminar on  September 17th 7-8 pm, Room A-1 to hear all about SAT vs.ACT and inside the PSAT, SAT and ACT Changes. 

Also available this month at Agoura High School - you can take a MOCK ACT or a  MOCK SAT on  Saturday, September 19,  9 am - 1:30 pm - $20! Please register at Pay4SchoolStuff.com. Please note - no refunds.

College Knowledge Night - October 7
Save the date - College Knowledge Night is October 7 at Oak Park High School! The PFCs of AHS, CHS and OPHS are proud to support this multi-workshop event. We hope to provide answers to the many questions parents and students have as they prepare for life after high school. Workshops include:
  • How to Choose a College & How a College Chooses You
  • How to Choose a College Major/Career
  • NCAA College-bound Athlete
  • Separate workshops about the UC system, the California State University system, and the Community College options
  • Specific interests such as Highly Selective Colleges, STEM in the 21st Century and Visual and Performing Arts Colleges
  • Writing a Smashing College Essay
  • I'm Not an A Student ... Now What?
  • The Cost of College and the WUE Option and Advantages of Going Out-of-State to College
  • Looking Ahead for 9th Graders
  • Special topic workshops such as 504/IEP Students, Military Academies, Naviance Nuances and much more!
SAT/ACT vendors will be holding a fair starting at 5:30pm before the workshops which starts promptly at 7:00pm.  Click here for more details. Hope to see you there!
