With Valentine's Day this month, consider that for your relationships with loved ones to be where you want them to be, you need to first have that relationship with yourself.
Take time to do something nice for yourself, by yourself, every day. Whether it's sitting in meditation, taking a hot bath, reading and relaxing, watching your favorite program or taking a 20 minute nap, the sacred moments that you carve out for you in the course of your day allow you to enjoy deeper and more meaningful relationships with others. This act of self-care serves you by:
- getting to know yourself better and what it is that you really want
- providing wisdom and guidance in the slowing down
- creating healthy boundaries with others
- role modeling for your children how to be their own best friend
By taking the time you need, for your life, to understand what is important to you and what brings you fulfillment and joy, you organically enhance the connection you have with others. Enjoy. Happy February!
