January 2015
The Power of Language
Whatever you want to accomplish this year, whatever you want to feel, begin with the words I AM.

If you want better relationships, focus your mind on the outcome you want to see. Instead of the chatter in your mind telling you what isn't working, or what may never be, steer your thoughts in the opposite direction- "I am enjoying a great relationship with my mother, husband, son or co-worker."

If you want to begin using your creative gifts, talk to yourself in the mindset of, "I am enjoying abundance, of the liberating feeling of creating my own schedule, of manifestation, of giving and sharing my talents."

If you want to lose weight, focus your mind on, "I am feeling amazing, I am in great shape, I am in perfect health," not,"I am heavy, I am overweight, I am never going to accomplish this."

The gremlins in your mind will take you to that self-loathing place, that is their goal. It is the habit of feeding those negative thoughts that lead to your feelings of inadequacy, of insecurity, and ultimately to destructive choices.

The quickest way out of anxiety, away from maladaptive behavior, is to focus your thoughts on the opposite of what you are feeling and on positive affirmations. For example, "I AM successful, I AM peaceful, I AM calm, I AM steady, I AM graceful, I am happy."

Focus on what you want, not on what you don't.

Appreciate this month, reflecting on the year behind you, using it as momentum for continuing to create what it is you want to feel this year, this month, right now.

Happy January- Happy New Year!

Join the Engine 2 ™ Challenge at
Whole Foods Market® Hingham!

WHAT: The Engine 2 Challenge is a four-week program affiliated with the Health Starts Here program at Whole Foods Market in Hingham to help customers kick-start a healthy eating lifestyle.  The program is based on Rip Esselstyn's national best-selling book, The Engine 2 Diet® - a practical guide for eating Plant-Strong®. A former firefighter and professional triathlete, Rip is well known for convincing the meat-eating firefighters at Engine 2 in Austin to go on a plant-based diet to save their own lives. Several were overweight with dangerously high cholesterol levels. Though the Texans loved their barbeque and steaks - they also loved the idea of a longer, healthier life and developed the mantra, "hale to the kale!" Their amazing results formed the genesis of a pilot study, followed by The Engine 2 Diet®, which now guides people around the world in eating Plant-Strong.

The program includes meal planning advice, guidance on reading labels and shopping for healthier foods, cooking demonstrations and tasty recipes featuring the new Engine 2 Plant-Strong® product line including Hearty Arugula Pizzas,  Nottingham Wraps and  Cocoa-peanut Cookies.

Quote of the Month:

"The words "I Am" are potent words; be careful what you hitch them to. The thing you're claiming has a way of reaching back and claiming you."
