If you are feeling anxious due to anxiety being a regular part of your constitution, or you are new to the scene and experiencing a pervasive feeling of being rushed with all there is to do these days, consider this exercise:
Breathe in deeply , through your nose, to a count of four and exhale slowly and purposefully out your mouth to a count of four. Do this 3-7 times. In 2, 3, 4, pause at the top, and out, 2, 3, 4, slowly and steadily on the exhale. Visualize yourself taking in necessary oxygen in order to redistribute the energy that is dominantly around your heart and upper chakras, or energy centers. When you exhale, visualize all of the stress, worry, toxicity and fear leaving your body, allowing you to feel stable, steadied and more at peace.
Don't take my word for it. Try it. Even before you feel anxious, try it out so that you are developing this coping skill for the next time you feel that wave threaten to take you over.
A simple tool, yet readily available to you, whenever you choose to use it.
Anxiety is a message that something is out of balance in your energy field, something requires a different choice, something needs to be let go of. Trust in the wisdom of your discomfort. It is your greatest navigation system. When you breathe deeply, you are choosing to honor the knowledge and wisdom of your highest self. You are choosing to transform fear into power and this ultimately takes you in the direction you genuinely want to go in.
Choose to honor yourself this month.
Happy October!

Hope Floats Healing & Wellness Center

4 Elm Street ~ Kingston MA
Denise & Ken Brack, created Hope Floats, born in part from the loss of their son, Michael. They created a non-profit foundation and educational center in a restorative, retreat setting where people can deal with their life struggles and improve their wellness. Having learned how such a loss can be devastating and isolating, they wanted to offer support and resources for others going through similar crises. Their primary focus is providing bereavement support, and in addition, offering healing and wellness programs.
Hope Floats Healing and Wellness Center focuses on two core areas. First, we provide free support groups, support retreats, counseling and healing workshops to help people who are grieving or facing other struggles. Most of these services are for adults. We also have programs for children and teens in collaboration with another provider. Second, we offer wellness classes, workshops, and private treatments with practitioners experienced in an array of mind-body-spirit healing arts.
