PETE'S PICK: CELEBRATE INDEPENDENCE
Celebrate your independence ... in the great outdoors!
There are a few locations in the Roanoke Region that allow a person to see not one, not two, not even three, but seven fireworks shows. I'm not sure if seven is the record, but I know that I can see that many from my strategic location. I'll be sitting around a campfire, enjoying good friendships, and taking pride in our great country. If you want to avoid the crowds, but still see some spectacular fireworks (including the stars), check out one of these locations:
Or if a festival is more of your thing, we have a list of Roanoke Region July 4 fireworks and celebrations. Get outside!

QRIDE MAKES CARRYING ID EASY FOR CYCLISTS
It is important to stay safe when cycling on the road. QRide, a local startup, is an ID that is easy to use and that you won't forget when leaving the house. The QRide sticker is a scannable identification sticker that you can put right on your helmet. And you never have to worry about forgetting your ID again. What's great about QRide - which can be great for motorcyclists or skiers or runners - is that you put the sticker right on everyday gear so it's always with you. The sticker is bright yellow and easy to spot in an emergency. Learn more about how QRide works and where to buy a sticker >>>
