The Countdown is On!

Caledon Farmers' Market Logo

In just one quick month, our 2013 Market Season will commence with live music, a diverse selection of local vendors, giveaways and FUN for the whole family!  Stay tuned for our detailed listing on what is planned for Opening Day & beyond!

To accommodate some of our local "Sleepy Heads",  this year's Market has been given a slight time change.  Starting Opening Day, June 8th, The Caledon Farmers' Market will be open between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

New Vendor Profile...

Bio Vision Farm

Henricus Verhoeven

"I produce healthy food knowing that people will benefit from it," is the philosophy that Henk Verhoeven passionately embraces. On the 100 acre spread where he has farmed for the past 20 years, he raises 100% grass fed Scottish Highland cattle, a small herd of 100% grass fed sheep, pigs and free range chickens. Hank and Jin also manage a large vegetable garden, producing a wide variety of seasonal vegetables. Proudly noting that Bio Vision Farm has been Biodynamic certified since 1992, they have absolute confidence in the quality of the products they offer to consumers; as Henk says, "this food is like medicine for the body and a healthy mind will ensure healthy thinking."

This year's Market will again feature a diverse range of vendors selling products such as local fruits and vegetables, baked goods, cheeses, organic beef, lamb, chicken, pork and other delectable foods. There will also be crafters and artisans selling soaps, body products, jewellery and other wares.

Featured Recipe: Mediterranean Quinoa Salad

Entertaining this weekend? Try this incredibly delicious (& EASY!) recipe courtesy of

HEALTHY DELICIOUS  ...your guests will be glad you did!

"The quinoa dish is one of my favourite creations. It's made with grilled vegetables (of course!), and is absolutely delicious warm or cold. I serve it to one of my pickiest friends (always a good indicator of taste factor), and she always seems to request it. It's such a lovely salad to eat outside with a cold glass of white wine."

  2. Meanwhile, cook quinoa.  Set aside in a big bowl.
  3. Make the dressing, adjusting seasoning to taste.
  4. Assemble the salad by stirring in the chopped eggplant and zucchini with the quinoa, topping with the dressing and giving everything a good stir.  Top with herbs and pine nuts & ENJOY!
