In May, we see the changing of the seasons right in front of us. Women's bodies also experience seasons of change, all of which come with their own set of health needs. Harvest Market helps women in times of menstruation, maternity, and menopause, and this month especially, we welcome you to take a closer look into some of our products for every woman.

For health advice on all life's changes and seasons, we suggest you consult with Donna Merrill, Harvest Market's very own Registered Nurse and Herbalist. She is available for FREE health consultations on a first come, first served basis on Mondays from 10am-1pm, Tuesdays from 3-6pm, and Fridays from 2-5pm. No appointment is necessary. *PLEASE NOTE that Donna will be away from May 22 until June 22.*

We also offer the holistic expertise of Rick and Henry, our Supplement Buyers, and Emma, the herbal guru behind Inverted Spade Herbals. We are always happy to help you with your health questions.

Farmers' Market season is upon us, and we are honored to once again sponsor the Kennett Square Farmers' Market and the New Garden Growers Market, weekly markets within 10 minutes of our store. Kennett Square's Market starts its Summer season on Friday, May 2, and the New Garden Market, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, takes place on Saturdays from 9am-1pm, beginning on May 10.

May is Celiac Disease Awareness Month. To honor those who have gluten sensitivities or who omit gluten from their diet, we offer our  Gluten-Free Guide, which highlights our growing selection of gluten-free items in the store. All month long, enjoy special wheat-free samples from our new and classic gluten-free products and Harvest Market Kitchen items, and take advantage of the many popular gluten-free items on sale this month.
Harvest Market Welcomes INFRA
During the last week of April, Harvest Market welcomed 60 members of INFRA, the Independent Natural Foods Retailers Association. Harvest Market is one of twelve original members of INFRA, an association owned and governed by independent natural and organic food retailers of all sizes, working together to leverage our voice and improve. For three days, INFRA members, representing 27 stores from the Northeast, gathered at the Hockessin Memorial Hall to discuss best practices amongst natural foods retailers and tour Harvest Market for inspiration and review. Attendees were especially wowed by the meals prepared by our own Harvest Market Kitchen. We were thrilled to be a part of the event and hope for many more years of continued success as your community natural foods retailer!

Take Action:
GMO Labeling
Monsanto and the junk food industry have finally found a few Congress members to introduce their bill designed to trump states' rights to pass GMO labeling laws and deny consumers the right to know if their food contains GMOs (genetically modified organisms). Rep. Mike Pompeo introduced H.R. 4432 on April 9, a bill that would specifically prohibit Congress or individual states from requiring mandatory labeling of GMO foods or ingredients. Click here to tell your Representative: don't support H.R. 4432.
