"When you possess light within, you see it externally."
- Anaïs Nin

The season of light draws close with the start of Winter on December 21, a chilly time to dig deep, find warmth and reflect on the rhythm of life. Harvest Market has plenty of festive events and sweet specials to brighten your days and nights as we get in a merry mood and celebrate the holidays. We're stocking our shelves with the holiday cooking and baking items you expect from your community natural grocer, as well as plenty of unique gifts and sustainable stocking stuffers for the good and bad boys and girls on your list.

Break the Chains
Be empowered to "Break the Chains" and purchase from local businesses during the mad rush of the Holiday season. Give your gift twice every time you Buy Local, Organic and Fair Made, ensuring a fair deal for producers and a quality product for consumers. For example, make a difference in the lives of Rwandans and Filipinas every time you purchase a hand-signed and artfully-designed Good Paper Card. In the Andes Mountain range, Andes Gifts' equitably employs rural women to knit beautiful Fair Trade hats, scarves, mittens, leg and ear warmers, all from soft Alpaca wool.

As proud Lifetime Business Members of the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture (PASA), we are honored to be listed in their Good Gifts Guide, which highlights PASA Members and their wares. Thanks for helping us keep farmers on the land by creating demand for their nutritious and locally-grown products!

Pre-made or Custom Gift Baskets are available at Harvest Market.
We have an assortment of pre-made Gift Baskets, priced from $10-$75, and featuring local preserves and honey, health and beauty products, chocolates and coffees, tea, soups, and more. Get a Customized Gift Basket *with 3 days advance notice* and we can create your own basket from anything in the store! Local Farm Profile
Latimore Valley Farms
York Springs, PA

Latimore Valley Farms, Inc. is a fourth generation family farm offering a variety of high quality products that "aim for an old time taste with family tradition." They are a USDA Certified Organic farm in York Springs, Pennsylvania, where they grow and preserve berries, fruit, vegetables and grain. We sell their apple and pumpkin butter, apple sauce, apple juice and pepper jellies, each of which is made with very few and totally natural ingredients. Having multiple generations around guarantees that all Latimore products are "kid tested and Grandma approved."

The family members behind Latimore Valley are involved in all aspects of the farm and work to achieve the best quality product for a reasonable price.  They converted to growing organically because their daughter had asthma and they felt the sprays were negatively affecting her health.  In their words, "we wanted the best for our family along with helping the ground that we farm."

Let us assemble a Specialty Gift Basket featuring a selection of Latimore Valley Farm products for you this Holiday! Call the store at 302-234-6779 or stop by Customer Service for more information about our Custom Gift Baskets. All Custom Gift Baskets require 3 days advance notice.
Make Cheer with New Products
Nourish Organic
Skin Care

In 2003, Nourish became the country's first USDA Certified Organic skin care collection. Harvest Market now carries Nourish's deodorants, creams, and hand washes. Of particular note is the Nourish Clean and Fresh Fig Deodorant--easy to apply, smells great and lasts all day because of the probiotic, fermented fig! Even the most sensitive underarms will appreciate this blend of naturally deodorizing cornstarch and vegetable protein, soothing shea and cocoa butters, beeswax and coconut oil that leaves you feeling fresh every day. You'll also be happy to support a regional company: Nourish is produced in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania.
Starfish Gluten-Free Panko Breaded Shrimp

Starfish Gluten Free Panko Style Breaded Shrimp is made with all natural ingredients, no preservatives, additives, or artificial colors.

Starfish Gluten Free Breaded Shrimp tastes as good as or better than any wheat based breaded shrimp. Serve it as an appetizer during your Holiday party and you'll surely have your guests, gluten-free or not, asking for more!

Starfish is pleased to be recognized by the Celiac Sprue Association as a processor of safe and verifiable Gluten Free products. (CSA standards demand more rigid gluten content standards than that of the FDA.)

Equal Exchange "Tells A Story" Coffee

As the name suggests, each "Tell A Story" coffee blend tells the story of the farmer-partners who grow and harvest the coffee beans. The "One Harvest" blend contains coffee grown from the women of Nicaragua's Tierra Nueva cooperative, which features leadership programs for women. From their hands to yours, enjoy this delicious harvest, a nutty and bright coffee with notes of sweet, brown sugar.

We also stock the Proud Mama and Mighty Morning blends. For more information about the "Tell A Story" coffees and their positive impact, watch this short video.

Drip grind only.

It's Essential

Frankincense Oil

Frankincense oil is extracted from the resin of Frankincense or Olibanum trees, whose scientific name is Boswellia Carteri.

Harking back to gifts of the three wise men, frankincense has been a popular ingredient in cosmetics and incense burners for centuries, having been found in the remains of ancient Egyptian, Chinese, Indian and Anglo-Saxon civilizations. Furthermore, it is closely associated with religious traditions and rites, particularly in the Christian tradition, where it's burned as incense and well known for its healing and anointing properties. The fragrance of frankincense increases spiritual awareness, promotes meditation, improves attitude and uplifts spirits.

Come bearing gifts of comfort and joy this Holiday with a Frankincense and Myrrh gift basket from Zum or Wyndmere. Both come complete with frankincense and myrrh anointing oils, tea lights and a tea light glass votive, plus directions on how to use everything safely.

If the smell of pine is more your preference during the Winter season, we recommend the Wyndmere Forest Retreat synergistic blend. It smells like a Christmas tree and works well in a diffuser or to scent holiday cards, gift baskets, presents, etc., or to give your evergreen tree a boost in smell once the needles begin to fall.
