A FEW NOTES REGARDING ROCKWELL DOG DAYS
  • "Business Day" on Weds, Aug. 26th is mainly for parents. Parents will enter the gym in the covered area by the basketball courts and will receive a punch card upon arrival.
  • After visiting a few stations in the gym and completing each station, you will receive your child(ren)'s teacher assignment. Due to privacy and district rules, we WILL NOT BE POSTING CLASSROOM LISTS on the wall as we have done in the past.
  • If you bring your children to Business Day, we will NOT have safety patrol on the playground so they need to stay with you or at home if possible. Students WILL NOT meet the teachers until the next day.
  • Students will Meet the Teachers on Thurs, Aug. 27th at the OPEN HOUSE from 11 - Noon.  Students WILL NOT meet the teachers on the business day on Weds.
  • If you will be out of town for Business Day, please email Kerry Bauman (the Rockwell Secretary) for further instructions specific to your situation.
Thank you for your patience as we get out of the "dark ages" and go online. It will be a little different this year, but we hope it makes things easier and uses a LOT less paper!

Enjoy the rest of your summer and
we'll see you at Business Day!
ATTENTION CURRENT CHAIRPERSONS &
REQUEST FOR FIRST EDITION (8/31) BUGLE ARTICLES
Attention Rockwell Chairs!
Did you know that while people are signing up online for their first day packets, they are also selecting things they are interested in volunteering for?  After all the sign ups have occurred, our webmaster Felice Nightengale can instruct you on how to run a list of interested volunteers so you can follow up!  As your event approaches, rather than creating your own sign up for more volunteers, our webmaster will be able to create a sign up form in the website and provide you with a link for your Bugle articles etc!!  We are hoping you all use the PTA website for your signups.

First Bugle Newsletter of the School Year:
The first REAL Bugle of the school year goes out next Monday, Aug 31st. Please submit articles by this Friday! Submit requests for Bugle articles to [email protected]
CHAIRS & COMMITTEES NEEDED FOR NEXT YEAR!

A number of open chairperson positions need filling ASAP!

  • Salmon in the Classroom Chair(s) (Incoming 4th grade parents)

(Chairing a position does not mean you're on the PTA Board!)

We really don't want to cancel these programs, but they can't run without a chairperson(s)

Click here for remaining positions! Thanks for your consideration.

WHAT ARE PEACHJAR E-FLYERS??
-It's a new way to get info from local non-profits and will be delivered right to your inbox. Very soon, you'll get great info on community classes, camps, registrations, performances and more from local non-profits! Less Paper sent home!!

From LWSD Site:
Lake Washington School District (LWSD) recognizes the important role that nonprofit organizations play in providing educational and cultural programs for district students in non-school hours. As part of our efforts to continue to be environmentally friendly, embrace innovative technology, and maintain fiscal responsibility, we have contracted with an eflyer distribution service provider called Peachjar.

LWSD allows non-profit, charitable and civic organizations to distribute information to students and families through the Peachjar eflyer distribution system. Upon approval, flyers are emailed directly to parents. All materials must be approved by the district. Materials from for-profit companies do not qualify. PTSAs, booster clubs, and other organizations that exist solely because the school or district does should contact the school concerning use of the Peachjar system. These groups will need to complete the Flyer Submission Form for PTSAs & Booster Clubs.

Find out more and how to get your non-profit's flyers onto Peachjar!
