A FEW NOTES REGARDING ROCKWELL DOG DAYS

- Rockwell PTA'S "First Day Packet" will now be completed online PRIOR TO OR AT business day (laptops will be available). The first day packet will be live on our website on Aug. 17th. Entering your own information for the directory, joining/renewing your PTA membership dues, ordering a yearbook, donating to Pass The Hat, ordering spirit wear, and signing up for volunteer opportunities at PTA events will all be done online! Completing your first day packet online prior to Business Day is preferable and will help speed things along. Create your website account today (if you haven't already), so you can easily complete your First Day Packet between Aug. 17th and Business Day on Aug. 26th.
- Some LWSD paperwork will still need to be completed in paper form at Business Day while some will be done online. We will have the exact information to you when we send the reminder Bugle with more details on Aug. 17th. You may bring your checkbook to pay for lunch accounts and school supplies at Business Day.
- "Business Day" on Weds, Aug. 26th is mainly for parents. You will receive a punch card upon arrival. After visiting a few stations in the gym and completing each station, you will receive your child(ren)'s teacher assignment. Due to privacy and district rules, we WILL NOT BE POSTING CLASSROOM LISTS on the wall as we have done in the past. If you bring your children to Business Day, we will NOT have safety patrol on the playground so they need to stay with you or at home if possible. Students WILL NOT meet the teachers until the next day.
- Students will Meet the Teachers on Thurs, Aug. 27th at the OPEN HOUSE from 11 - Noon. Students WILL NOT meet the teachers on the business day on Weds.
Again, this is the basic information you need to know. We will launch the First Day Packet on Aug. 17th and send more details in a Bugle Newsletter on that day as well. Thank you for your patience as we get out of the "dark ages" and go online. It will be a little different this year, but we hope it makes things easier and uses a LOT less paper!

A number of open chairperson positions need filling!
- PTA Reflections Art Contest - this launches in mid-Sept...we need a chair(s) ASAP!
- Heritage Night in January
- Chess Club
...and a few more REALLY need a chair asap. Chair or co-chair with a friend or two. (Chairing a position does not mean you're on the PTA Board!) We really don't want to cancel these programs, but they can't run without a chairperson(s).

Bugle Article Submissions Welcome
The Beagle Bugle welcomes article submissions from students and parents. Student journalists may submit articles about current events, students opinion-editorials and poems or short stories. Parents may submit articles about PTA events and school related topics.
Any article that is unrelated to PTA or Rockwell must be approved by the Lake Washington School District, and will be posted on the Community Bulletin Board. The Lake Washington School District website has more information on the submission and approval process.
Short pieces will be edited for inclusion in the Bugle, longer pieces will be posted on the website with a link in the Bugle. The Deadline for submissions for the next weekly Bugle is the preceding Thursday. The Bugle Staff reserves the right to be selective regarding the materials that are publicized.
