Last Thursday at our PTA General Membership Meeting, the Mayor of Redmond (John Marchione) presented our school's PTA with a check from the School Pool program for $4,870.00!  The School Pool program in the fall encouraged families to carpool, walk, and find other ways to get to school to relieve traffic.  We were one of the top-earning schools thanks to our parents, kids, and teachers who participated in the program!

Additionally, he provided an overview and answered questions about current issues in Redmond. One update you will notice this week is the new electronic speed limit signs that are going in around our school.

  • Kindergarten Registration will begin Thursday, Feb. 5 from 1:00 - 7:00 pm in the school library. Child must be 5 by August 31, 2015 to register. Bring birth certificate or passport, immunization records, proof of address and checkbook if interested in All-Day program. Lottery for class placement will be held Feb. 11, 2015. More information can be found HERE.
**Please forward to any of your friends & neighbors starting Kindergarten at Rockwell this fall!

Our wonderful office staff is getting inundated with little visitors to the Health Room...and need more parent helpers!

If you can spare a few hours a month or a week to help "staff" the health room, it would be greatly appreciated. Mostly it involves bandaging little cuts or applying ice packs, taking temps, filling out paperwork and sometimes calling parents.

You will be trained and serious cases will be handled by the office staff.  If you are already trained, please consider signing up for another shift. Mid-morning to mid-afternoon (covering recess and lunch) is the most important time for volunteers!

Please email Melissa Sutton for more information!

Save Those Used Books!

In the spring, the Rockwell Library will once again have a Used Book Sale! The purpose of the sale is to get books into the hands of children and to earn some extra money for the Rockwell Library.  So, please start weeding through your books now!  We accept children and adult books.  Donations can be dropped off any time at the library office.  More information regarding the details of the sale will be posted at a later date. Thanks in advance for your support.

Dear Rockwell Families,

Rockwell Staff are hoping to ask our community for help in acquiring as many USB mice as possible. We'd like to get all of our students working with the technology for State testing as soon as we can and at the same time. It would be greatly appreciated and helpful if any unused mice could be donated to the school.

Please drop them off at the front office with Julie and Kerry. As always, thank you for your continued support of our school, staff, and students!

Thanks again!

Jimmy Cho
