Get to Know WIN Lab Accelerator's Newest Women Entrepreneurs      
The Center for Women's Entrepreneurial Leadership has selected 21 women entrepreneurs to participate in the 2015-2016 Women Innovating Now (WIN) Lab business accelerator, a one-of-a-kind program, specifically designed to support women entrepreneurs in their startup and early-stage ventures. WIN Lab provides Babson women entrepreneurs the road map, expertise, inspiration, and community they need to successfully reach their entrepreneurial goals. Read more � 
Meet Babson's 21 New Faculty Members  
Each committed to excellence in teaching and preparing entrepreneurial leaders

Babson College has appointed 21 new faculty members, raising the community's number of full-time faculty to 194, and part-time faculty to 66. This year's appointees include a committed group of skillful teachers and accomplished business managers, entrepreneurs, marketers, accountants, and economists, as well as legal, financial, and technology experts.

Latest Babson Research Shows Family-Owned Businesses Keeping Control
Family businesses continue to maintain high levels of ownership and control of their companies, according to research by the Successful Transgenerational Entrepreneurship Practices (STEP) Project at Babson College. Latest STEP survey results show that family businesses hold 90 percent equity, are intentional about legacy, yet see the need for external leadership. Learn more �

The Babson Medal Awarded to Roger Enrico '65, H'86 at Reunion and Homecoming Weekend
The Babson Medal represents one of the highest honors Babson College bestows on an individual for outstanding achievement and commitment to the College. It is presented to a dedicated graduate or friend of the College for distinguished service to the community and Babson College. Roger Enrico '65, H'86, was awarded the medal during Reunion and Homecoming Weekend on September 26, 2015. Learn more � 
Daniel Brennan '87, M'89, and Chris Chandor M'98 Join the Cutler Center's Advisory Board
Two alumni have joined the board of advisers at the Stephen D. Cutler Center for Investments and Finance. Daniel Brennan '87, M'89, executive vice president and chief financial officer at Boston Scientific Corporation, is a member of Boston Scientific's executive committee, responsible for several company functions including global controllership, corporate finance, treasury, corporate tax, corporate analysis and control, and corporate new business development. Most recently, Brennan served as senior vice president and corporate controller. Read more � 
 
Chris Chandor M'98 serves as vice president of development for The Davis Companies (TDC), one of the premier real estate investment, development, and management firms in the northeastern United States. In his role at TDC, Chandor leads projects requiring the most significant repositioning efforts, as well as new development and redevelopment initiatives. Read more � 
Women-Led Companies Can Compete for $250,000 in the Babson Breakaway Challenge   
The Center for Women's Entrepreneurial Leadership (CWEL) and Breakaway, a Boston-based brand capital firm, have opened applications for the Babson Breakaway Challenge, the largest funding amount ever to be awarded in a women-specific business competition. The objective of the challenge is twofold: help women entrepreneurs see their businesses launch successfully, and create opportunities for women to enter the venture capital industry. Read more � 
Featured Action Star: The Zamora Family
The Zamora Family
When Central America was in the midst of political turmoil, economic instability, and social unrest in the 1980s, Roberto Zamora P'00 '03 '07 '12 saw an opportunity to create his own financial institution that would provide services the global banks were withdrawing from. Thirty years and a few Zamoras later, LAFISE is now a family-run company that operates in 11 countries, and employs more than 5,000 people. Along with his wife, MaryJo P'00 '03 '07 '12, their children, Marcela '00, Roberto Jr. '03, Rodrigo '07, Diego '12, and son-in-law Eduardo Erana '98, LAFISE is not only contributing to the economic prosperity of the region, but has also become a reference for how the private sector can have a significant impact on the social development of a country. They created the Zamora Teran Foundation which is creating an impact for education in the region with the "One Laptop Per Child" program. Watch the Zamora family's story � 
Edward Chiu Named Babson's Senior Vice President of Advancement
Former vice chancellor at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, Edward Chiu will utilize nearly two decades of experience in the advancement of higher education in his new position as Babson's senior vice president for advancement. Chiu will provide leadership and strategic vision for Babson's Development, Alumni and Friends, and Advancement Communications teams. He also will serve as a member of the President's Cabinet, reporting directly to Babson President Kerry Healey Read more �
New Associate Director of Wellness Ashleigh Hala Developing Sexual Violence Prevention Program
In this new position, Ashleigh Hala will develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive, trauma-informed, and empowering sexual violence prevention program that will include educational workshops, intervention services, and consultation regarding policy initiatives.  Learn more �

Real People Real StoriesErica DeBiase brought a background in psychology and sociology to Babson when she arrived in 2014 for her Master of Science in Management in Entrepreneurial Leadership. A year later, she's working as a financial recruiter in the Boston area and credits Babson with her ability to confidently conduct interviews with high-level finance professionals.
