Introducing San Francisco Study Away
Next fall, 25 undergraduates will head west for Babson's new San Francisco Study Away semester. Students will study "Tech Entrepreneurship and the American West" and attend classes on our campus in the city's SOMA district. In addition to the program's liberal arts and consulting courses, Jim Poss M'03, founder of BigBelly Solar, will lead an experiential course on what it takes to grow a business from idea to revenues. 
 

Best Wishes to Outgoing Provost Dennis Hanno

Dennis Hanno was recently named president of Wheaton College in Norton, MA, and will be stepping down from his current role as Babson's Provost on June 30. During his eight years at Babson, Hanno has inspired our students and community with his energy and leadership. Join us in wishing him great success in this exciting new chapter!

Survey Says 68% of Alumni See Themselves as Entrepreneurs

The 2013 Babson Alumni Career Pathways Survey reveals that our alumni are active in a wide breadth of industries and leadership roles: 61% are executive level or higher, or have founded their own company. The study also highlights the career path similarities and differences between undergraduate and graduate alumni, domestic and international alumni, and men and women. Collectively, Babson alumni are making a significant impact on the world economy. Thank you to the more than 2,000 alumni who participated in the study. Learn More (PDF) »

The Babson Alumni Association Wants You!
The Babson Alumni Association (BAA) is announcing a general call for nominations for the BAA Board of Directors for two-year terms beginning July 1, 2014. If you can make a strong contribution or if you would like to recommend somebody, please submit a nomination. The deadline is Friday, March 28, 2014, at 5 p.m. EST. The election will take place online and all materials will be available in May via the alumni website. Contact the BAA with any questions about the process.

Business Competition Open to Alumni

The Blank Center is excited to include alumni businesses in its B.E.T.A Challenge competition for the second year in a row. Participants in the competition's alumni track are eligible for the grand prize of $20,000 in cash, plus services in kind donations from corporate sponsors. Babson Blended Learning: Test It Out

The graduate school is offering a new test-it-out course for prospective students interested in experiencing Babson's Blended Learning MBA program firsthand. The course, Managing in a Diverse Workplace, is taught in the blended learning format with online learning and collaboration, as well as face-to-face sessions at Babson's San Francisco campus, and it focuses on understanding the factors that create leaking talent pipelines with respect to diversity in the workplace. Students who successfully complete the course and subsequently enter the Blended Learning MBA program will earn 3 advanced standing credits. Learn More »

Would you like a group of eager Babson business students to review an area of opportunity in your organization? The Management Consulting Field Experience (MCFE) program offers undergraduate students the opportunity to work with local companies as consultants. Submit your project for consideration for our Fall 2014 MCFE program - the application deadline is March 1, 2014. Financial Times Profiles Babson as Global MBA Rankings are Released
Babson College was one of only two institutions profiled in the Financial Times' 2014 rankings of top MBA programs. Babson Entrepreneurs Have a New Way to Compete for Capital
Twenty Babson startups from a pool of 77 survived the cut and made it to the fourth round of Startup Rounds, a new business contest. Startup Rounds is open to any company founded by Babson undergraduates, graduate students, or alumni with less than $1 million in earned revenues. The contest culminates in a final awards ceremony on February 27 featuring more than $30,000 in prizes.  Learn More »

Babson alumni made their mark on the Olympic Games in Sochi. Dan Egan '87 reported live from Russia, blogging for Boston.com in "Dan Egan's Olympic Travel Log." John Millier '89 worked with the U.S. Figure Skating Team as a team manager and technical adviser for ice dancing. We're proud of their work in Sochi!
