Donuts with Dr. Gordon

Superintendent Paul Gordon will host open office hours at each of the schools this month starting at Abraham Lincoln School this Friday morning. Here is the schedule of "Donuts with Dr. Gordon" at all of the schools. If you can't make it to your school, all are welcome to attend any of the other sessions. Hope to see you there!

All of the open office hours will be held from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m.
Abraham Lincoln School: Friday, October 9
Churchill School: Friday, October 16
Forest Glen School: Wednesday, October 21
Benjamin Franklin School: Thursday, October 22
Hadley Junior High School: Wednesday, October 28

 

Board of Education Meeting

Due to the Columbus Day holiday, the next Board of Education meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 13. 7:30 p.m. at the District 41 Central Services Office. The Finance & Facilities Committee will also meet at the Central Services Office beginning at 6:30 p.m. 

 

Ribbon Cuttings

Both Churchill and Forest Glen Schools celebrated Ribbon Cuttings at their schools over this past weekend. Thank you to the Executive Director of Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce Mike Formento for helping us celebrate the removal of portables and the addition of new classroom spaces!

 


Congratulations Hadley Music Students!

On Saturday, October 3, 12 Hadley Junior High students competed with over 400 students from 32 different schools to be a part of the Illinois Music Educators Association (ILMEA) District Honors Choir. The audition process included demonstrating basic music skills as well as two prepared pieces for judges.

Three Hadley Junior High students were accepted to represent District 41 in the ILMEA District 9 Honors Chorus at Plano High School on November 21. Congratulations to Ben Atchison, Josh Reifel and Ashley Renfro!

The District 9 Honors Chorus includes about 200 students. They will rehearse for several hours on November 21 with Bridget Sweet, a conductor from the University of Illinois, then perform a concert at 3 p.m., Plano High School. The concert is free and open to the public.



PTA Community Outreach Halloween Costume Drive

District 41 PTA Council's Community Outreach committee is holding a Halloween Costume Drive at all four elementary schools. Donations of gently used non-violent Halloween costumes for grades pre-K - 5 will be collected this month at Abraham Lincoln School, Benjamin Franklin School, Churchill School and Forest Glen School. The costumes will be donated to the Glen Ellyn Children's Resource Center. Thank you to all who donate costumes!
