First Day of School 

It was a great first day! Here are some snapshots of students as they returned to school.




 

New Classroom Ribbon Cuttings at Churchill and Forest Glen

All are invited to attend ribbon cutting ceremonies, presented by the Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce, to celebrate the four new classrooms at both Churchill and Forest Glen on Saturday, October 3, 2015. The four classrooms at each school were built to replace remaining portable classrooms. Four more classrooms are being built at Churchill School to replace the final portables at the district's elementary schools. At this time next year, all portables at the elementary schools will be gone and replaced by new classrooms. The final four classrooms will open Summer 2016.

No RSVP necessary. Both events are open to the public.

Board of Education Meeting Update
During the Board of Education meeting on Monday, August 24, an extension to Superintendent Gordon's contract was approved through July 30, 2019.

A special note of thanks - The Board meeting was video streamed live for the first time. Thank you to the Chay family for the donation of the equipment making it possible to provide this service to the community.

The agendas and minutes for all Board meetings, along with audio (and now video) recordings are available HERE. The next meeting of the Board of Education is Monday, September 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the District 41 Central Services Office, 793 N. Main Street, Glen Ellyn.




Glen Ellyn Backyard BBQ 

Come check out the Glen Ellyn School District 41 table the GE Backyard BBQ this Saturday in downtown Glen Ellyn. We will be located near the Kids Zone area. Board members will be available to answer your questions about the district. Also, balloon artist will be at our table from 2 and 5 p.m. Stop by and see us!
