NEXT BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING APRIL 29
This is a reminder that the
next regular BOE meeting is Monday, April 29, 7:30 p.m. at the Central Services Office, 793 N. Main St., Glen Ellyn. Agenda and packet information will be posted at least 48 hours in advance of the meeting. Please note that this meeting was originally set for April 22--the date was changed so as not to conflict with the D41 PTA Council Legislative Forum (see below).

STUDENT ODYSSEY ASSIGNMENTS WILL REFLECT NEW MAP SCORES
Spring MAP testing is underway; as students complete these tests, they are assigned new folders in Odyssey that reflect their spring scores. Since students should be working on the new activities, the old folders that were based on previous scores are going away. Any activities that have been assigned directly by teachers will remain. As always, if a parent feels that the assigned activities are either too difficult or too easy for the student, he or she may contact their child's teacher, who can assign different activities.

PLEASE COME! LEGISLATIVE FORUM APRIL 22
The District 41 PTA Council is hosting a
Legislative Forum on education issues in Illinois on Monday, April 22 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Hadley Junior High School, 240 Hawthorne Blvd. in Glen Ellyn. Topics for the evening's panel-style, Q&A discussion will include school funding, the impact of the Illinois tax hike expiration on schools, pension funding, the STEAM/STEM approach, school safety and PARCC (The Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers). Panelists will include Sandra Pihos, State Representative, 42nd district; Kirk Dillard, State Senator, 24th district; Peg Agnos, Executive Director of the Legislative Education Network of DuPage County; Bob Ciserella, D41 Assistant Superintendent of Finance, Facilities and Operations; and Bill Enright, Professor, College of DuPage. Parents and community members are encouraged to attend this information-packed evening to help keep informed on the issues facing education in our state and how they impact our children.
