Hi Lincoln Families,

February is off to a very busy start.  Please take a minute or two to look over the upcoming events!

Thanks, Linda

Feb 1st - High Interest Day -SWAT Team and Volunteer Information

Our grades 3-5 students are very excited about High Interest Day tomorrow.  Our PTA has worked hard to provide this AWESOME event.  A local SWAT team will be presenting one of the sessions and will have their SWAT vehicle on school grounds tomorrow.  So, if you happen to be in the area and see the truck...don't panic.

Just a quick reminder to volunteers:   Please stop by the front office and sign in when you arrive.  Volunteers will receive a name tag to wear while in the building.  Please remember to officially sign out before leaving the building.  Thanks for your support and cooperation.

Feb 4th Odyssey Training for Parents at Lincoln School

As a quick reminder, we are hosting a Parent Odyssey Training and Information Session on Monday at 7:00pm.  This session will be taught by a representative from Compass Learning Odyssey.  The Odyssey program is an online learning program available free YEAR ROUND to all District 41 students and is aligned directly to individual student learning levels.  This is a great opportunity to learn more about this resource.  This session is scheduled to last one hour.

Feb 7th- Think Tank Meeting for Lincoln Parents

Members of the Lincoln staff will be hosting a Think Tank question and answer session for Lincoln parents on Thursday, Feb 7th at 7:00.  Please stop by on Thursday evening for a conversation on the Think Tank Proposal.  We will be gathering in the LLC.

Feb 12th- 50 Years of Opening Minds and Opening Doors - All School Celebration

Plans are well under way for our big 50th year celebration which is schedule to take place on President Abraham Lincoln's birthday.  Abe and Mary Lincoln will be making an appearance here at school in the morning, special entertainment is planned for lunch, and "Lincoln Celebration" games are schedule for each grade level sometime during the afternoon.

In addition, each class will participate in a door decoration contest.  The theme for the contest is 50 Years of Opening Minds and Opening Doors.  As a culmination to our special dress up spirit days (60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and Dress Like Abe), February 12th will be an actual "dress up" fancy day.
