EDITO

We have plenty of events and excitement in the air as we wind down these last few weeks of school. It was rather sweet watching the Kindergartners yesterday in their blue caps and gowns, receiving their diplomas, and meeting their new Elementary School Director Francis Carlier. They were filled with emotion, so excited and so very proud of themselves!

This event kicked off the end of the year events and much excitement is yet to come. I encourage you to register your child or yourself for the first annual "Fête de la Musique" on June 4, where our community is invited to demonstrate their musical talents. We can also look forward to the student art fair, which is, every year, filled with very impressive and creative works of art. You are invited to come and see the Art Show on Tuesday, May 19 and Wednesday, May 20, in the auditorium.

Please enjoy this issue of the ECHO for more information on upcoming school events.

Emily Sims,

Communication Officer

Chers parents,

Bonne lecture !

Last week, our theater troupe presented the play, "Et si on jouait au Petit Prince," written and directed by Emmanuel Samé and directed by Mr. Samé and Sylvie Jarlov at the Multilingual Theater Festival in Dallas, Texas.  Thirteen of our students from 6th to 8th grade participated in the project and presented the show for students of the Dallas International Middle School.

We are very proud of all of the hard work the students put into the play and their wonderful performance at the festival.

Bravo to our students and we all look forward to the next performance for SDFAS students only on May 28.

LE GROUPE HUMANITAIRE

SDFAS' HUMANITARIAN GROUP

The SDFAS Humanitarian Group and the students delegate have decided to respond favorably to a request from AEFE solidarity funds.

The French Lycée in Vanuatu has recently been impacted by cyclone Pam which hit the Francophone islands of Vanuatu in March. The Lycée and its community are located in the capital city of Port-Vila. They need funds for repairs, as some students and families have suffered losses and to help local schools who are partnered with the Lycée. AEFE (our network of French international schools worldwide) has organized a collection. SDFAS will send $450 from the funds raised at the jog-a-thon and earmarked for humanitarian causes. Already $6,000 has been distributed to local charities. (see previous Écho issues.)
