It was a very colorful day yesterday on the campus, with students donning some very creative and elaborate hairdos and hats. We also had a presentation by the 3rd graders of their music workshops with a professional musician. They played the "mbira," also known as a thumb piano, an instrument from Zimbabwe, to the delight of their parents who had been invited for the final class. At the same time the French book fair gave students and parents the opportunity to receive the most valued of gifts: books in French. It seems so many activities take place everyday on the campus every day and every week, and these are just a few examples.
Finally, the gala was a success and gave the SDFAS community the opportunity to celebrate the school and to help fund projects for next year. More information will be sent soon by the gala team.
Enjoy this week's Écho!
Chrsitian Jarlov, head of school
Chers parents,
Bonne lecture !
Christian Jarlov , chef d'établissement

This year SDFAS students raised more than $8,000. Two local charities each received a check in the amount of $3,000, and the remaining $2,000 was divided among other organizations that benefit children. The other half of the funds went towards the purchase of sports equipment and recess games.
