EDITO

We are happy to report that our upcoming gala, "Une Nuit Musée," is entirely sold out!  We are very excited about the overwhelming enthusiasm for this important evening and are so looking forward to gathering together in support of our wonderful children and community.

In the meantime, we are THRILLED to announce the opening our ONLINE AUCTION TOMORROW!  This year, our amazing volunteers have outdone themselves once again, procuring INCREDIBLE auction items.  From exciting travel escapes to health and beauty services, and, of course, outstanding wining and dining items, there are many fantastic ways to support your school while stocking up on terrific opportunities for entertainment and family fun.

In addition, our online auction will feature beautiful class baskets prepared by our parents.  This year, the parents have created truly spectacular baskets with varying themes.

These original creations are exquisitely arranged and contain items ranging from speciality wines and spirits, baking items, products for beautifying, and children's technology and imaginative play baskets.

Finally, we are so privileged to be able to feature this year's unique teacher experiences.  The "Teacher Experience" is designed to allow our children to interact with their teachers in an off-campus setting.  These experiences are very special and memorable for our children, and we are so grateful to our teachers for providing this opportunity to our kids.

See below for details about how to BID AND WIN!!!

Thank you and see you at the gala!

IT'S YEARBOOK TIME

The Yearbook Club, the Yearbook Staff, and the room parents have been working on putting together the book of memories for the 2014-2015 school year. Now it's your turn!

First of all, did you order your yearbook and pay for it when you turned in your child's enrollment agreement for the 2014-15 school year? If not or if you don't remember, the yearbook volunteers can help you. You will also be able to check the list to verify your purchase. You must order a yearbook in advance!

If you purchase an ad, it helps offset the cost of the book. Ads are the way you can recognize your child or teacher for a job well done. We will have samples from previous books to show you. You may also wish to purchase an ad for your business. Ad prices have not increased! We have limited pages reserved for advertisements, so please reserve your space and purchase the ad now.

DES ESCARGOTS EN MATERNELLE

SNAILS IN KINDERGARTEN

Last week, Géraldine's PKO class visited the kindergarteners in their classroom. Why? So that the kindergarteners could proudly introduce their snail habitat to the fascinated two and three year-olds and show them how to build their own habitat.

A few months ago, snails were brought to the kindergarten classes and put into a terrarium. Since they arrived, the students have been regularly observing them and learning about their way of life. Eventually, the snails laid eggs in the dirt and one morning students came to school thrilled to see many baby snails in the terrarium.

Both students and teachers have been very curious and motivated by this discovery project, which allowed them to better understand the life cycle of a snail, along with its characteristics.

As a kindergarten project, this allowed students to learn about experimentation,  team work and inquiry-based learning.

This project integrated many parts of the curriculum and allowed the students to learn about cooperative learning across grade levels.

This was a great sharing experience for all.
