IMPORTANT NOTE TO PARENTS

Parents: If you would like to speak to your child's teacher, please request a meeting by email.

Teachers wearing red bags on duty in the morning from 8:00 to 8:30 are not able to speak with parents. They are required to place their full attention on the playground and students.

It is best to meet with teachers at an allocated place and time for more efficiency

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

 Greetings! ,

The election for the Board of Directors of the SDFAS Parents Association (PA) is here!   Your participation in this election is vital.  This year, in order to make it easier for parents, the election is being held online via Survey Monkey.  Instead of having to attend a meeting at school to cast your vote, you can do it online. What could be easier? You will receive an email today with the names of those individuals who have offered to serve on the Board of the PA -- all you need to do is cast your vote.  Those elected will be your representatives on the PA this year and will have a say in very important (and fun) events such as Marché de Noël and Kermesse. The election will only take a few minutes but your voice will be heard all year.

Please take the time to read about those individuals who are running and cast your vote.

Thank you.

La semaine du goût en maternelle

Taste Week in Preschool and Kindergarten

Taste Week is an annual event designed to change children's relationship with food and address eating habits contributing to the obesity epidemic.

Next week, the preschool students will work on developing their curiosity and positive attitude towards new foods  by sorting different fruits and vegetables by color.

In Kindergarten, students will discover the diverse world of flavors. They will learn to differentiate the four flavors: sweet, salty, sour and bitter, will taste different varieties, and will have to determine which flavor they are tasting.  Throughout the week, students will also participate in a cooking class organized by their teachers.

Maeve Rochford from Sugar and Scribe in Pacific Beach is our special guest for taste Week and she will decorate cookies with the students.

This wonderful themed week is dedicated to encouraging our young children to become more aware of what they are consuming.

Hydration Revolution

This year at SDFAS we are campaigning for water bottles! Every child at SDFAS should come to school with their own reusable water bottle... everyday.

Proper hydration contributes to happier moods, clearer mental focus, proper circulation and digestive function, increased athletic performance, and overall well-being!

Got water?

Sports League

Cross-country:

Congratulations to the Girls Cross-Country Team for their FIRST place finish at our meets at San Dieguito Park (1.7 miles) and San Elijo Park (1.8 miles)!
