Self Compassion & the Cultivation of Happiness with Kristin Neff

Research suggests that self-compassion reduces anxiety, makes us more resilient in the face of challenges, and improves our overall mental health.

  

This day-long seminar led by Mindful Self-Compassion founder Kristin Neff, will offer strategies for cultivating such self-compassion, boosting happiness, and reducing stress in yourself and others.

The Science of Happiness: Free Online Course

Learn what research says are the keys to a happy, meaningful life by taking the GGSC's FREE online course, The Science of Happiness

 
Co-taught by the GGSC's Dacher Keltner and Emiliana Simon-Thomas, each week the course will offer research-tested practices to boost your own happiness and will feature guest talks by experts like Rick Hanson and Jon Kabat-Zinn.
 
Registration is now open for The Science of Happiness. The eight-week online course begins on September 9, though you'll be able to proceed at your own pace. 
 
Six or 16 continuing education credit hours are available for a modest fee. More information here.

Meet Our Hornaday Graduate Fellows
This month, meet Hornaday Graduate Fellow Jon Cowan.

 

Jon is a third year doctoral student in management of organizations at the Haas School of Business. His study focuses on investigating lay perceptions regarding the consequences of altruistic versus selfish behavior.
