January 2013

Greetings!

Happy New Year! Registration for our first annual Summer Institute for Educators is now open! Click here for more information.

This month, I explored the science behind spiritual development and what it might mean for education.

You may also enjoy reading how teachers can renew their passion for teaching.

Finally: I want to hear from you! If you're a student, a teacher, or an administrator, please send us your stories, poems, and pictures on the theme of love in education. We'll be featuring some of the submissions on the Greater Good Education website in February. Please send your entries no later than January 31st to ggsceducation@berkeley.edu.

Wishing you a peaceful New Year.

Warmest regards,

Greater Good Summer Institute for Educators

We're very excited to announce that registration is now open for the first annual Greater Good Science Center for Educators!

When: June 28-July 3, 2013
Location: UC Berkeley's Clark Kerr Campus

Experts in the areas of compassion, empathy, and mindfulness will present science-based information, tools, and skills for teachers and administrators to use for themselves to prevent burnout, with their students to enhance their social-emotional learning, and as intellectual fuel to make the case for the importance of social-emotional learning back at their schools.
