Shabbat to Honor Fryda Fraeme
Mark your calendar for a special Shabbat on Friday, April 1st at 8pm, as we honor our former Temple Administrator, Fryda Fraeme. Services will be followed by a celebratory Oneg!
The Empty Place at the Seder Table 
On Wednesday, April 6th at 6:30pm at Temple Isaiah, Jewish Community Services will present a discussion facilitated by Rabbi Amy Scheinerman &  Donna Kane, MA, JCS Clinician for those coping with loss during the Passover holiday. Family gatherings can be painful for those who have experienced the death of a loved one.

Grandparents Circle - Discussion Salon

Men's Club Brunch
Sunday, April 3 at 9am
Our speaker will be Hadar Shahar, the Jewish Federation's third shlicha. Hadar works with the Federation to create and promote Israel-related activities in Howard County. Through these events she fosters increased connections and greater understanding of Israel and Israeli culture. Her talk will be oriented toward an explanation of the political structure and strategies in Israeli politics. There will be plenty of time for Q & A.
Sisterhood
Sisterhood Book Club: May 11th; 6:30pm at TI
The second book for this year is The Aleppo Codex by Matti Friedman. Cost for this event is $18 and includes dinner and wine. Dinner begins at 6:30, followed by a discussion led by Marilyn Handwerger and Rabbi Axler.

12th Annual MatzohBall 5K Headquarters
Sunday, June 7th at Centennial Park
Our goal is to raise $25,000 - proceeds to benefit TI and partner groups - DreamBuilders, Grassroots, and HopeWorks.  Sponsors will receive a free t-shirt and entry to the race.  Small business owners who sign up as corporate sponsors will have their logo featured on the t-shirt, banner, sponsor board, and website.  Online registration is available here.  For more information or a paper form go to

Peace Takes Two - Anti-Semitism on America's College Campuses

A Panel Discussion for Parents of High School Seniors and Juniors. Panelists will include representatives of the Anti-Defamation League, StandWithUs, the Jewish Federation and others.

Renaissance End of the Year BBQ
The Renaissance Group will be holding their end of the year BBQ on Sunday, May 15th beginning at 5:30pm at the Temple.  The BBQ, once again be catered by Klobys, will feature all of your favorite picnic foods, plus hors d'oeuvres, wine, beer and delicious desserts.  We offer vegetarian options as well.
 
Our guest speaker will be Dick Goldman, twice Past President and current Vice President of the Jewish Genealogy Society of Maryland.  He is an adjunct professor at the Community College of Baltimore County. This spring, Dick will be a presenter at the Family History Center in Washington and in the summer, at the International Association of Jewish Genealogy Societies Conference in Seattle.

Howard County Yom HaShoah Commemoration
The Howard County Yom Hashoah commemoration will be Thursday May 5, 7pm at Temple Isaiah.
The theme is Rebirth, Restoration, Remembrance. 
Community members are encouraged to bring Holocaust era artifacts and to add to our Shoah Memorial List . Please submit information by April 15, 2016

Come under the Red Tent for an evening with Lori Palatnik, who will be addressing the question: "Since worry only causes harm, how do we let go of it and live in a healthy space no matter what life throws at us?"
