Special Edition

Dear Friends:

I hope that this upcoming Friday night finds you in an improved situation regarding electricity, heat, shelter, and comfort. We continue to receive word from residents who are getting their power restored, and are beginning the long task of cleanup, restoration, and resuming their day to day activities as best as possible. There still remain many challenges ahead with mass transit, rebuilding, and those who have been displaced.

Synagogues continue to offer support, guidance, shelter, and resources to their communities. I urge you to reach out to a synagogue in your area, if for nothing more than support, during this rough time. You may be surprised by the warm welcome you receive, and may find yourself becoming part of a community that you never thought to take part in until now. Good things come out of bad circumstances, and I believe that Hurricane Sandy will be a prime example of this adage.

Please see below for some updates on synagogue programs and events, and make sure to note cancellations, postponements, and continuing programs. As always, we will continue to support our residents who have experienced damage and loss to their homes and belongings. Please reach out to us via email at Info@HudsonJewish.org if we can be of assistance in directing you to resources that are available.

Best wishes for a safe & restful weekend,
