 Whats New in Family Search?
3 Tech Tools Every Genealogist Should Have
Fifty years ago, genealogy was difficult work. Yesterday's genealogists spent hours in libraries, combing through mountains of old phone books and stacks of dusty records. Progress was slow and frustrating. However, with the advancement of the Internet, social media, and online databases, connecting generations has become easier than ever before.  While there are hundreds of technological tools to help you find your ancestors, here are three that can really boost your family history research.  Find out what they are-click here.

Helping Your Photographs Live Forever
Photography is changing rapidly. The change from film to digital technology happened in less than four years. Only a very few ever use film for taking pictures anymore. This improvement in digital photography will continue making dramatic adjustments even faster than we can imagine. What does the future hold for digital photography?  Learn about preserving your photo history-click here.

Free Scanning Photos - FamilySearch
You have been putting off scanning those treasured family photos and documents. Now
FamilySearch.org  has made it very easy for everyone to achieve this very needed preservation.  At the over 2,800 Family History Centers across North America, FamilySearch has placed the new Lexmark MFPS scanners. They are very simple to operate and now make it very easy for anyone to scan a whole box full of family photos and records.  Learn more-click here.

Creating a New Source on Family Tree
One of the best features on Family Tree is the capability to create a source for your ancestor.  Although FamilySearch has billions of records in their database, you are still going to find records on other websites, in books, and in your paper files that you will want to add to the record of your ancestor.  FamilySearch has a simple process and with a few tricks you can quickly create accurate, informative sources.  Click here to learn the process.

"Add Title" to photo
On the photo working page - you click on "Add Title" then you have to click on the "Title" box to add a title. The cursor should go straight to the Title box, what else are you going to do after clicking on "Add Title"?
Answer:  Go to "Memories" - "Gallery" - to a photo, click "Add Title" at the bottom of the photo (or click the photo itself then click "Add Title" at the Photo Viewer page). Today, the first time you click "Add Title" it goes to the "Title box" but if you "Cancel" go out of the "Title box" then click "Add Title" you have to then click on the "Title box" to get back in. No big deal, but yesterday it seemed each time I had to click on the "Title box" each time to go there.

Use eGENEe to Search for Genealogy and History Websites and Resources
eGENEe is a website containing a catalog of genealogy and history websites. Anita Brubaker, the owner of eGENEe, says she began keeping a list of useful, reliable websites in 2010. It was first a spreadsheet and later became a true database as the number of entries grew. It now has become eGENEe. The web site currently contains more than 150,000 links for US websites, and that number is growing daily. Currently only the United States is available, but there are plans for additional countries in the future.  Click here.

Suggestion for Weekly Bulletin Thought
"What could you do better for your children
and your children's children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved?"
Spencer W. Kimball

Remember...
The obstacle in our path
In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a roadway. Then he hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock. Some of the king's wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it. Many loudly blamed the King for not keeping the roads clear, but none did anything about getting the stone out of the way.
Then a peasant came along carrying a load of vegetables. Upon approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded. After the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the King indicating that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway.
The peasant learned what many of us never understand! Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve our condition.
