Whats New in Family Search? |
FamilySearch Makes 2.7 Million Historic Records from the 1915 New Jersey State Census Freely Searchable Online
FamilySearch International has added more than 2.7 million searchable historical records from the 1915 New Jersey State Census to its free online collections. New Jersey records are highly sought after by family historians because the state was a popular settling point for millions of immigrants during the heyday of US immigration from 1892 to 1924. The 1885 and 1905 New Jersey State Censuses are also available, making these three online collections invaluable for researchers. Learn more at:

Genealogy gold mine: Millions of wills now online
Thousands of amateur genealogists who fantasize about being left a fortune by a distant relative can now get a reality check. Starting Wednesday, upward of 100 million wills written over the last three centuries will be posted to Ancestry.com, the popular genealogical search engine.
Wills trump other genealogical resources, which rarely open a door to our forebears' thoughts, notes Todd Godfrey, a vice president of Ancestry.com. Learn more- click here.
Correspondence: Privacy? Confidentiality? Ownership?
John and June are colleagues in a professional field but work independently of each other. John writes or emails June, asking her thoughts on a matter. June responds. John then publishes June's response on the Internet. Is there a problem? Learn more, click to find out details.
WWII Prisoners of War Records published online for the 1st time
This week's special Findmypast Friday marks the release of one million records of service men, women and civilians who were taken captive during World War II.
The publication, in association with The National Archives, marks the 70 thanniversary of the end of World War II on all fronts on 2 September and the anniversary on 5 September of the liberation of the notorious Changi Prison camp, located on the eastern side of Singapore. Click here for details.

Suggestion for Weekly Bulletin Thought | "You are a child of God. He is the father of your spirit. Spiritually you are of noble birth, the offspring of the King of Heaven. Fix that truth in your mind and hold to it. However many generations in your mortal ancestry, no matter what race or people you represent, the pedigree of your spiritSpirit can be written on a single line. You are a child of God!" Boyd K. Packer

It Couldn't Be Done
Somebody said that it couldn't be done, But he with a chuckle replied That maybe it couldn't, but he would be one Who wouldn't say so "till he tried." So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried, he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn't be done, and he did it. Somebody scoffed: "Oh, you'll never do that; At least no one ever has done it." But he took off his coat and took off his hat And the first thing he knew he'd begun it. With the lift of his chin and a bit of a grin, Without any doubting or quiddit, He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn't be done, and he did it. There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done, There are thousands to prophesy failure; There are thousands to point out to you, one by one, The dangers that wait to assail you. But just buckle right in with a bit of a grin, Then take off your coat and go to it; Just start in to sing as you tackle the thing That cannot be done, and you'll do it.
