MEET KAMAL BANKS-JACKSON

Kamal is a senior at Impact Academy of Arts & Technology in Hayward.  He is also a first generation college student, looking forward to his future.  He credits his Envision school with preparing him for that future:  "This school always pushes us to do better...it's that character that they instill in you, that there's always something you can do better, that will keep me going and successful in college."
Our students spend their four years of high school practicing leadership skills, defending their learning, and collaborating with others.  They are confident, capable learners who can reflect on their progress and plan for their future.  While many of our students arrive at our schools lagging behind in academic skills, four years later 98% of them are accepted to college.  Our teachers and schools are dedicated to helping students, especially those who will be first in their families to attend college, by preparing them for future success.
