ENVISION'S FIRST EVENT BECOMES A NIGHT TO REMEMBER!

This past Wednesday, October 8, more than 200 people came out in support of Envision Education, at our first annual fundraising event, held at the incomparable Yoshi's in Jack London Square.  The night featured delicious food from Yoshi's, smooth jazz from The Marty Williams Trio, silent and live auctions, personal and moving speeches from Envision's CEO Gia Truong and from Envision students past and present, and last but not least, a lively crowd of enthusiastic and generous friends and supporters.

In her comments, Gia described  the critical role education can play in breaking the cycle of poverty, Envision's commitment to educational equity, and the powerful results Envision is achieving for our students.  Current students DeAnte and Dora, and alumnus Kaleb each talked about the difference Envision has made in their lives.  In an outpouring of generous support, our guests responded by pledging an incredible $267,000 to provide our schools and students with additional counseling, math and reading support and college trips, exceeding our goal for the evening and positioning us well to reach our overall goal of $330,000.

We are beyond grateful for our friends and supporters, both old and new, and we are inspired by their gifts.  Envision Schools and Envision Learning Partners are successful because of our commitment to rigor, relevance, and relationships in the education of our students, and because we have the support of fabulous donors, who are helping to ensure that Envision will continue to offer students and schools a way to transform the educational experience.

Thank you to everyone who made An Evening with Envision such an amazing success: because of you, we are motivated to work even harder to make a difference in the lives of our students!
