  • The Kentucky Heritage Council is accepting nominations now through April 17th for the 37th Annual Ida Lee Willis Memorial Foundation Historic Preservation Awards. See more info here.
  • Members of EKC's Executive Committee will attend AIA Kentucky's Strategic Planning Retreat in Louisville on April 16-17 where we will discuss statewide goals and priorities for the next 3 to 5 years. Tell us what issues matter to you!
  • AIA Kentucky has created a new Facebook page in order to help our members stay connected and informed. Take advantage of this opportunity and "Like" AIA Kentucky today!
 
Get Involved!
AIA East KY is in need of volunteers to assist with coordinating various programs for the chapter- such as the annual Design Slam, Continuing Education and Mentorship. If you are interested in becoming more active, please email us to see how you can help!
 
College of Design
  • UK's AIAS Chapter will host the AIAS Midwest Quad Conference in Lexington, April 10-11.  
  • Several CoD students spent their spring breaks working in professional firms across the country and blogging about their experiences. Read about them  here.
  • Parker Executive Search is continuing their search for and recruitment of candidates for the UK CoD's new dean. The staff of Parker hopes to bring candidates to campus later this month. Stay tuned!
  • Many of the presentations scheduled for the UK/CoD's spring lecture series will be registered with AIA to provide learning units for continuing education. Refer to the CoD Event Calendar for additional information.
     
Learning Opportunities
 
NCARB & You

Students, interns, and architects (including IDP supervisors and mentors) in the Lexington area are invited to attend this presentation by NCARB's Outreach Manager of Internship + Education Kimberly Tuttle, AIA, NCARB, who will be speaking on licensure-related topics of IDP, ARE and Certification. 1.5 AIA LUs will be available to licensed professionals who attend.

Materials & Methods From the Ground Up

Co-hosted by AIA Kentucky and AIA Indiana, in conjunction with the Kentucky Building Materials Association, this continuing education workshop will be held at Belterra Casino and Resort in Florence, IN on April 16, 2015. The program has been approved for 5 LU HSW.
