Support Breast Cancer Awareness!
This month we salute Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the work of the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, Inc. (DBCC), a small group of community volunteers who were committed to decreasing the mortality rate of breast cancer in Delaware.
DBCC trains community advocates to educate and encourage women to take responsibility for breast health. DBCC also helps women with low income and little or no insurance to receive free or reduced-cost care.
Learn more about these local events: Midway Fitness & Racquetball is Spinning For Awareness and for the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition on October 24 at their facility in Rehoboth Beach. Lewes is America's Most Beautiful Small Town... AGAIN!
From all of us at Active Adults Realty, "Many congrats to Lewes in Bloom and to the First Town in the First State for once again (4th tome) being recognized as one of the most beautiful small towns in the country!
According to an article by Nick Roth in the Cape Gazette, Lewes was named the winner of the Champions Category for small towns at the 2015 America in Bloom Symposium in Holland, Mich in September.
Now that Lewes can now be considered the champion of champions, Warren Golde, founder and co-chair of Lewes In Bloom, says, "the city has been encouraged to enter Communities in Bloom, an international competition that would pit Lewes against national winners from around the world." And the Trucks keep on rolling... After a successful September opening with hundreds of people rolling in for the festivity, Epworth United Methodist Church will continue Food Truck Fridays at the Epworth United Methodist Church on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month. The next Food Truck Friday is on October 9 from 4-7pm.
