Boomers and Beyond at the Beach ... in Delaware! |
|
Greetings!
Springtime in Delaware, and it's time to return to Boomers and Beyond at the Beach ... in Delaware. The Off-Season was even better than ever and I hope you discovered that even Off Season at the Beach provides lots of things to do. As you plan for that big move, we realize that you want to get a feel for what it's like to live here and whether or not you will like it.
In this newsletter, we try to have fun but also share some things related to how real estate is doing in Coastal Delaware. Then, we add upcoming events and features on some of our favorite things to do and places to go.
This newsletter is more than 6 years old. We hope you enjoy it and we are always interested in your ideas, your questions and your feedback.

100 Best Places to Retire | Some of you may remember that I was a contributor to an article in the September/October 2012 of Where to Retire Magazine on Southern Delaware. Well, that article was so popular Southern Delaware is now going to be featured in the fifth edition/2013 version of the 100 BEST PLACES TO RETIRE that is expected to be released later this summer. The current link promotes the fourth edition, which is pretty outdated. DON'T ORDER YET; wait for the Fifth Edition/2013 version to be released. I will certainly announce it in this newsletter. |

You've heard the term "Better than New". In this case, that could be true. Real Estate starts with Location, Location, Location, and this home is located on a cul-de-sac, on a pond, at the end of the street. Plus it is ready for you NOW.

Featured Boomer -
Meet Bob Burakiewicz | We helped Bob and his wife Michelle find their new home at Heritage Creek in Milton in 2009. They quickly became friends with Neil and Judy, another couple originally from New Jersey. It turns out that Neil and Judy moved here from Pompton Plains, the town where I grew up, but that's another story!

Farmers Market Season is here
|
One of our favorite things about living in Coastal Delaware is the growing number of Farmers' Markets.
From Lewes to Georgetown, from Milton to Bridgeville, Farmers' Markets are the best way to shop for fresh local produce.
Milton opened on Friday, April 19th but the 1st "First Friday" of the season with special entertainment is this Friday, April 26th.
CLICK HERE to see the Opening Days and hours of operation and plan to visit one of these markets on your next visit to Delaware.

Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge
|
Today I was driving clients around the area and they asked me to show them Prime Hook. I hadn't been to the area in a while and I told them about the time Bill and I took an air boat ride through the Refuge. It's something I highly recommend and a great way to get familiar with one of the most beautiful wildlife refuges I've ever seen.
Learn More at Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge online. In future newsletters, we will highlight one of the State Parks, local parks or Historic Sites that make Coastal Delaware unique.

Base Model Pricing
|
Several years ago, I wrote an article entitled Understanding Base Model Pricing. This morning I referred to it once again in a meeting with a new Buyer Client. They were sure that they could buy a to-be-built home at the "advertised price".
The questions about new home pricing always come up when talking about new construction and this article was my first attempt to explain how new home pricing works.
You see the ad and it says "Starting in the high $200s".
Here's an update on New Home Pricing.
