Annual Community Meeting

On Sunday, January 26th, we will have our Annual Community Meeting at the end of our worship gathering. We invite you to stay for this meeting which will celebrate how God worked through Emmaus in 2013, introduce what is planned for 2014 and provide an opportunity for members to vote for new board members to join the leadership of our community.  Plan to be there!

Homework Club

Can you give your time to help others? At the end of January, we have an opportunity to help with a homework club at Twelve Bridges Middle School. The club will be for only one hour from 2:45 to 3:45pm on Tuesday and Thursday. Volunteers will be trained on how to help the students.  Let us know if you are interested in helping!

Spiritual Formation Experience

There is a group forming for the purpose of going deeper into personal, spiritual formation.  The group will be studying and discussing the book, "Crafting a Rule of Life." For more information on this spiritual formation experience, contact Stephen Lendzion at 916 207-7162.

Our meeting location will be the HUB (180 E. 8th Street). There will be discussion questions per chapter for each week.  For more info, contact Sandie Haskins at sandie@emmauscommunity.org.

Men's Monthly Hiking Group - Saturday, January 18th

"All two of us enjoyed a crisp December morning on Cardiac Hill in Auburn. It was a great day to complete two full years of monthly hikes! In January, we will start off year 3 with our annual hike to Fairy Falls. If you haven't done this one before, you don't want to miss it. It is a cool waterfall that's pretty close to Lincoln just north of Camp Far West in Spenceville. The goal of this group is to help us get physically and spiritually fit with other men in our community. As always, we meet at 7am at the Lincoln Crossing Starbucks.
*Note: If we ever get snow, we want to call an audible and go snowshoeing. Maybe this month. Maybe next. We will see...
Estimated Time: 7:00am departure - 12:00pm return
Hike Length: 5 miles round trip (fairly easy terrain)
Elevation Change: ~300ft

Bring snacks and water as needed.

Contact: Justin Carpenter (530) 305-1717, Tom Tracy, Steve Henning"
