Men's Monthly Hiking Group, June 15th
"We had an awesome group of 12 guys wake up an hour early to head out on the longest hike we have done to Feather Falls last month. It is a spectacular waterfall (especially in the Spring), but we also got to see hundreds of orange newts crossing the trail, a few snakes, a swarm of ladybugs, and some banana slugs. Now that the hot weather is here, we will start heading up into the mountains. For June we are hiking from Carr-Feeley lakes to Island Lake in the Grouse Ridge area up Hwy 80. The trail starts at the Carr Lake PG&E campground at about 6700 ft elevation. Right next to Carr Lake is Feeley Lake, but the true gem is the destination of Island Lake. This lake is aptly named because of an island in the middle and it provides a great opportunity to cool off with a swim."
Estimated Time: 7:00am departure - 1:00pm return (hiking time 2 hours) Hike Length: 4 miles round trip Elevation Change: 250ft Brink hiking snacks, water, swim trunks, and a couple bucks for your driver. Contact: Tom Tracy or Steve Henning

Summer Lunch Club
Each Sunday this summer you will have an opportunity to join an individual, couple or family from the Emmaus Community for lunch! Just fill out an orange card at the Welcome Table at the beginning of the gathering with your name, drop it in the offering basket, and you will be randomly paired with another individual, couple or family to share lunch together after the gathering. You can choose which Sunday(s) you join in and the Club will continue throughout the summer months. Since "community" is a core value at Emmaus, this is a fun way to get to know other people at Emmaus that you may not have had a chance to meet! Who doesn't love to eat out? After the gathering, check the Summer Lunch Club board to see who you are paired with and then pick a spot to go enjoy lunch together, it's that easy!

Go Love Your Neighbor Sunday,
July 14th
On Sunday, July 14th, in place of gathering at Foskett Ranch Elementary, we will worship God by going out into our neighborhoods and loving others. Do something with your family, friends or home group. We would love to hear about your plan to Go Love Your Neighbor! Here is what our community did a few years ago:
- Invited neighbors over for brunch
- Cleaned up trash and weeds at an elementary school
- Planned a BBQ for all the neighbors in the court
- Painted the outside of The Lincoln Youth Center
- Fixed and tuned up bikes in neighborhood and gave out Popsicles
- Prepared and brought food to the homeless
