Women's Retreat
"We praise God for the way He ministered to us during the women's retreat weekend. The presence of His Spirit was evident through the clear, direct messages from His word and in the words we spoke and prayed over each other. The opportunity to share our deepest fears, hopes and prayers forged new and deeper friendships among us. The gift of time apart with God healed us and challenged us to live for His glory."
Congratulation to Heather Boyd who earned her masters degree!
Operation Warm Baby Kits:
With all of the baby items that Emmaus generously donated, numerous Operation Warm Baby Kits were created for delivery to the Kudjip Nazarene Hospital in Papua New Guinea.

Men's Monthly Hiking Group
Saturday, May 18th
"For the month of May we are in for a real adventure this time. We will be hiking to Feather Falls in Oroville. We did this last May and it was great. At 410 ft tall it never disappoints. Hiking at this time of the year, it should be really flowing! Outside of Yosemite, this is one of the best waterfalls in California. Please note that we will be leaving at 6am from the Lincoln Crossing Starbucks (one hour earlier than normal) to get up there before it gets too hot and back at a reasonable hour.
Estimated Time: 6am departure - 2pm return (hiking time 4.5 hours) Hike Length: 8.75 miles round trip Elevation Change: 1100 ft
Bring hiking snacks and water and some cash for your driver (it's a long trip).
Contact: Justin Carpenter (530) 305-1717, Steve Henning, or Tom Tracy" |
Clothing Swap on Sunday, May 19th
Our next clothing swap is fast approaching! A great reason to clean out your closets this week! Our semi- annual event will be held on Sunday, May 19th, directly following our morning gathering. Donations of gently used clothing, footwear and accessories for all ages and seasons are welcomed. Please place your clothing swap donations to the foyer by 9:45am on Sunday, May 19th. Please have your clothing sorted by gender and size. Don't forget to pick up your clothing swap tag when you do so. Those who donate clothing and receive swap tags prior to 9:45am will get to exclusively look through clothing the first 10 minutes following church.
After a ten minute window
,
everyone
, including those who did not donate clothing, will be free to look through the clothing and take what they need. The clothing swap will only run for 45 minutes following our morning gathering. So make sure you don't miss your chance to swap!
Also, we are looking for volunteers to help organize clothing during the gathering, starting at 9:45am for approximately 30 minutes. We also need two trucks lined up to transport clothing to the donation point directly following the swap. Please contact Jackie

Community Garden Status
There is only one plot left! There was a post on the Lincoln Good Neighbors site and it received a great response! 14 plots are now taken and only four of those went to current Emmaus families. There has been a lot of community participation this year.
