Congratulations to Lori Tracy and Nick Zerwas for being elected to the Emmaus Church Board! Thanks to Aimee Bellanca and Justin Carpenter for their service to the Board over the past two years.
Nathan, Rich and Steve Henning had an amazing and productive trip to Ethiopia in January. During their time in Africa, a baby named Tariqua was rescued and admitted into the orphanage that they were serving. Great news, due to the overwhelming response from the Emmaus Community after hearing Tariqua's story, we are able to fully support Tariqua plus two other children at the orphanage.
Registration is now open for the 2013 Women's Retreat, April 19-21st! Once again the women of Emmaus will meet at the Jesuit Retreat Center in Applegate. The deposit is $50 and the total cost for the retreat will be $167. Come to the welcome table on Sunday to sign up.

Men's Monthly Hiking Group
Saturday, February 16th
"We had a good turnout of people (13) on the January hike to Fairy Falls. It was a crisp sunny morning and a good hike to kick off the year; we have a lot of adventures ahead of us. It was good to see dads bringing their boys out on the hike. I think there is a lot of value added in spending time doing something like this. For this month, we will be hiking around Bridgeport Bridge, the undisputed longest-span wooden covered bridge in the world. The trail is called the Point Defiance Loop Trail and is of moderate difficulty. There is some elevation gain, but it's not too long of a hike."
Estimated Time: 7:00am departure - 11:00am return
Hike Length: 3.1 mile loop trail
Elevation Change: 540 ft
Bring snacks and water. Contact: Justin Carpenter (530) 305-1717 or Tom Tracy.
