Out With the Old, In With the New
2015 was in so many ways an amazing year of changes, both for the good and the bad. Because we were short on beef in the late winter/early spring our meat sales were down, but that is a small blight on a year that made us ranch owners at long last. Water was plentiful for summer grasses, the animals healthy and strong, and while we lost a horse, a good friend gave us a wonderful young colt. We thank God for our many blessings, and for a wonderful year.

Christmas Storm

Even the pig was having fun
|
We were so happy to see snow - in abundance - for the Christmas holiday. Our daughter Lisa and family stayed with us for a few days and while opening gifts was fun, sledding on the hills on either side of our house was the highlight.

The View From The Porch
What a treat to see these majestic bulls from the back porch, near the pond.
These are some of the nicest bulls we have seen on the property.
| From the front porch - pretty as a postcard! |

Hunting on the Ranch
Our grandson, Kyler, shot his first elk last Sunday, hunting with Grandpa. What a blessing it was for Allan to be able to be a part of this special time.

Gabe
Thought you might like to see some pictures of Gabe, our Anatolian Shepherd pup. He is growing very fast, and is showing great promise as a guard dog.

Some Wise Thoughts for 2016
- Everything can change in the blink of an eye, but don't worry, God never blinks.
- It's okay to be angry with God. He can take it.
- Frame every so-called disaster with these words: "In five years, will this matter?"
- If we threw all of our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we would grab ours back.
- However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
- Time heals almost everything. Give time time.
- Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.
- Don't take yourself so seriously - no one else does.
- Life isn't tied with a bow, but it is still a gift.
- When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.
- God loves you because of who He is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.
- Believe in miracles.
- Make peace with the past so it won't screw up the present.
- It's never too late to be happy. But it's all up to you and no one else.
- Growing old beats the alternative - dying young.
- Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.
- Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.
- When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
- All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.

In Closing . . .

We are looking forward to 2016 with enthusiasm. While we are already tiring of the political process and concerned about terrorism on our soil, we know that God is in control and He has great plans for our future.
Thank you all so much for being part of our family. God bless you in the coming year.
