New Grandson Our daughter Lisa and her husband Garrett are the proud parents of Teeg Ronald Hammer, a healthy baby boy born on March 11th, weighing in at 6 pounds and reaching a full 19.5 inches in height. He was welcomed to this world by his two sisters, Taylor (16) and Reece (7), as well as his brother Kyler (11). We are very happy to be grandparents again and Allan is especially glad that he will have another little ranch hand running around one of these days very soon.

State Runners Up Although our Pagosa Springs Lady Pirates did not win the state championship in Colorado Springs this year, we are so very proud of their second place trophy. They played very well and lost the final game by 6 points, after leading by 8 at the half. While it was extremely disappointing for the girls, especially the seniors, we have great hopes that their new team will return next year to win the girl's 3A championship for Pagosa Springs for the first time ever. Our granddaughter Taylor is #20 (back row, far left), the same number her mother wore when she played for the Lady Pirates.

Introducing Tami Peterson Tami Peterson joined our staff last year after moving to Pagosa Springs from Arnold, California. Tami helps pack our meat every Monday and is doing an amazing job. When she is not working with us she is a massage therapist for The Overlook, a hot mineral spring spa in downtown Pagosa. If you like the way your meat is packed you have Tami to thank for it! I for one am very grateful to have her help as she is extremely conscientious, hard working, and fun to work with, as well as just a very smart woman. Thanks, Tami, for all you do!

All Star Winner Here we go, tooting our own horn again. GrassRoots Meats is the recipient of the 2013 All Star Constant Contact Award for excellence. Constant Contact is the vehicle we use to accumulate your email addresses and create this newsletter each month. It is the center point of our marketing strategy and quite honestly, I cannot imagine GrassRoots Meats growing to the point it has without this wonderful tool. An award should definitely go to them for creating such an easy to use and enjoyable platform for staying in touch with our customers.

Chicken Livers!
Many of you have been asking for chicken livers and we now are able to offer them to you. Packed in 12 ounce containers, these organ meats are from the same company from which we get our other chicken. Although the livers are from all natural (no hormones or antibiotics) free range chickens, they are fed non-organic grain. Unfortunately organic livers are not available. The chicken livers are priced at $4.49 per container and are available to order on the website.

April Specials Just in time for Easter, as well as Passover, we are offering our Boneless Leg of Lamb for $11.99 per pound, a savings of $2.00 off the regular price of $13.99 per pound.

In Closing . . .
Hopefully April winds will bring April showers to our area. Our irrigation water should be turned on in a few weeks and then we will be able to nourish the painfully arid ground with abundant moisture.
We hope you and your family have a wonderful Easter. We will be celebrating the Christian Passover with our children and grandchildren on April 15th, a tradition we began many years ago and look forward to each year.
God bless you all. He is alive!
Lois & Allan
