Principal's Message

Dear Parents,

Please join us Friday night on the field for our Annual Murwood End of the Year Picnic from 5:00 -7:30 PM.  We'll have DJ Dave spinning records and our popular photo booth again.  Dessert will also be served by our generous PTA.  Don't miss the fun!

Monday is our annual Track and Field Day.  The classes are gearing up for another fun filled day of fitness.  To help this day go smoothly, please make sure your child hydrates all day Sunday, has light layered clothes and tennis shoes on Monday, along with lathering on sunscreen and filling a water bottle at home.  Thank you, Jenny Cruser, for making this a great Murwood memory.

Parents, we have begun talking a lot about grit and perseverance this year and so, this summer our staff will be reading Carol Dweck, PhD.'s book entitled Mindset.  Dweck explains why it's not just our abilities and talent that bring us success- but whether we approach them with a fixed or growth mindset, and how mindset can create a love of learning and a resilience that is the basis of great accomplishment in every area.  Please join us and pick up your copy of Mindset for summer reading.  We will be discussing this in PTA as part of Parent Education series.

Thank you,

Carol Nenni

Murwood Principal

From the Office

LOST and FOUND

We have quite a collection of LOST items, and we would love to see that they've FOUND their homes before the end of school.  Be sure to stop by the tables in the hall outside the office to check for clothing, lunch boxes & containers, hats, etc., that might be yours.

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL LUNCHES

Please note: Hot lunches are not served on the last day of school.  The Cafeteria will make a bag lunch for your child, if an order form was received in advance.  The order form is on the bottom of the June menu and is to be returned by June 11th to the office.   Money must be in the child's lunch account or attached to the request or a lunch may not be provided.  Thank you for your help.

PALS is an alternative K-5 program offered by the Walnut Creek School District. The program is based on a philosophy of parent participation within multi-grade classrooms. If you are interested in enrolling your 2nd through 5th grade student in PALS for the 2015-2016 school year, or have questions about the program, please contact Chris Reddam.
