Principal's Message

Dear Parents,

Thank you, third through fifth grade parents, for having your child in school on time during testing.  Next week is our last week, so let's make sure everyone is here, especially from Mrs. Wikander's and Adams' classes, so we can finish up!

All FIFTH GRADERS must be in school on Monday and Tuesday, May 4 and 5, for the 5th grade science test.  It will be held from 1:00- 2:30 pm.

If you have enjoyed any of our wonderful events this year,  made new friends, and helped build community, thank our dedicated PTA President, Mandy Wells, and our incredible Executive Board and Committee Members.  We are still in need of officers to step up and keep our calendar active next year.  We can't do it without you, so please don't assume "someone" will step up and take over.  Be that someone for Murwood!  Volunteer to be on our board so we can continue to do what is best for children and our community.  If I can answer any questions, please call me.

Thank you,

Carol Nenni

Murwood Principal

From the Office

Once again, we are noticing a trend of students that are looking for snacks at the start of school and at recess.  Please make sure your children are getting a good breakfast (always include protein!) before they head off to school.  If your mornings are rushed, try keeping some 'grab and go' items in your pantry...things like string cheese, granola bars, whole grain toaster waffles or toast with nut/soy butter, trail mix, fruit, and hard-boiled eggs are just a few great options.  Also be sure to pack a healthy snack for them or, better yet, have your child pack snacks (grown-up approved, of course) in their backpack the night before.

From the PTA President

Dear Murwood Families,

Next week is National Teacher Appreciation Week (of course, we extend the celebration to the entire Murwood staff), and we're very excited to pamper our teachers and staff. Please be sure to check in with your room parent for a schedule of events, but also remember that testing is still going on for the upper grades. We're asking that parents leave by 8:15, so that testing can begin on time. Please check the link below for opportunities to help out during this week.

We're also still looking for a few more people to serve on the PTA's executive board. Please contact me, Mrs. Nenni, or any of the other board members for more information.

Murwood PTA would also like you to join us for the May general meeting. We will be voting on collaborative fundraising, finishing up old business for the year, and saying good bye to some board members.
