Principal's Message

Dear Parents,

Sincere thanks to Renee Brooks and Shelden Hyde for a fantastic Luau Auction for Education!  The hard work of the PTA Auction team and parents made it a great night for everyone at Murwood!

Thank you,

Carol Nenni

Murwood Principal

From the Office

TK/K REGISTRATION PACKETS

Kindergarten packets are ready for pick up in the school office!  Please complete and return the packets between March 16th - March 27th. Packets for Transitional Kindergarten may be picked up from and dropped off at the Walnut Creek School District Office on Ygnacio Valley Road.

PARKING LOT SAFETY REMINDERS

Please refrain from cell phone use in the carpool line during drop off and pick up times - they distract you from paying full attention to our precious little ones.  If you are in your car, be patient for the cars ahead of you to move forward, do not back up and try to go around them.  If you are on foot, please use the designated walking paths and crosswalks. We have seen too many close calls lately between distracted drivers and pedestrians not using the proper paths.

LOST & FOUND

Please take a moment to check the Lost and Found table outside of the office.  Items left behind when we head to break will be donated.

From the PTA President

Dear Murwood Families,

I'd like to thank all of our hard working auction planners and volunteers, especially Renee Brooks. We had a very big turn out, and the generosity of our donors and buyers has raised more than $85,000 for programs to benefit Murwood students.

Please mark your calendars for our Multicultural Night and Cookbook Launch on April 17, 2015.  We're really excited to bring this event to you, and we hope that your family will attend. Our community is incredibly diverse, and it's exciting to see all the recipes shared in the cookbook from all over the world. Please look for more information in the next two weeks.

This spring, recycling will become a lot easier for kids and adults alike. Recycling, organics, and landfill carts will be the same color at home as they are at school!

Late March through May, Republic Services (formerly Allied Waste) will be exchanging your old recycling, organics and landfill carts for brand new ones that will correlate with the same colors as the containers students use in the classroom. You will be provided the same cart sizes you have now.

Republic Services will send you more information in the mail. If you have questions, you can call (925) 685-4711.
