Principal's Message

Dear Parents,

Thank you, families, for keeping up with Charlotte's Web!  Our classrooms are buzzing daily with discussions about each night's chapter.  Our podcasts have over 1,000 hits so far!  Keep listening, and most importantly, keep reading as a family!

The flu is racing through our school so please help your child by encouraging frequent hand washing, as well as cough and sneeze etiquette. If your child is ill, please make sure you call and let us know. Remember they have to be symptom free for 24 hours before they can return to school.

In this cold weather, please insist that your child wear warm outerwear. The sun doesn't clear the buildings and hit the playground until after morning recess and it is cold out there! Please remember there is no adult supervision outside until 8:00 AM.

Thank you,

Carol Nenni

Murwood Principal

From the Office

Please remember to notify the office, not just your teacher, if your child will be missing school.  Our teachers get very busy in the mornings and often don't see your emails or hear your voicemails until after attendance has been turned in.

VOLUNTEERS!  We are still looking for two helpers for Vision Screening on Friday, 6 February, from 10:30-1:00pm.  Please call Stacy in the office if you would be available.

We will be hosting a Superintendent Coffee hour at Murwood on Thursday, February 5th.  Please see the attached flyer for details.

From the PTA President

Dear Murwood Families,

Our next PTA meeting has been rescheduled for Wednesday, February 18.  This allows everyone to attend the Governing Board meeting and our PTA meeting. Both of these meetings will be covering topics important to your family next year, so I hope you can make them.

We are also in need of volunteers to help with a myriad of auction tasks from creating the catalog to hosting parties, picking up donations and putting together display boards. Please contact Renee Brooks for further information or to help out.  Our Auction for Education is our biggest and fundraiser of the year, and we always could use a little, more help.

Cheers!
Mandy Wells
