Principal's Message
|
Dear Parents,
The MW Office Staff thanks you for being so kind and showering us with lovely gifts at this time of year. This year, we ask that you join PTA or donate a gift card to our Giving Tree. That's a gift that keeps on giving! Thank you!
INTERNET ESSENTIALS
We know that many students and their families would like to have Internet service at home so they can do homework, search for jobs, download music, communicate with others and much more. We also believe the Internet can be an important part of your child's education. That's why we want to make sure you know about a new program provided by Comcast called Internet Essentials.
THE HOUR OF CODE
This week many of our second through fifth grade students have been participating in a program called the Hour of Code. This introduction to computer science is designed to demystify code and show that anybody can learn the basics. Code.org has organized this free program for the week of December 8-14 in celebration of Computer Science Education Week. The program is self-guided and can be accessed at code.org. Give it a try! The students viewed a special message tweeted by President Obama congratulating them for participating in this exciting event!
Thank you,
Carol Nenni

Dear Murwood Families,
Congratulations to our 5th Grade band students and Laura Marks! They were great at joint 5th grade/WCI concert last night. For many of these students, this is the first time they have performed in front of a group. Look on the MW website for audio of last night's concert!
Just a reminder, there is still time to add your favorite recipes (up to 5) to our Murwood Cookbook.

Captain Invisible, Freeze Frame, The Green Pen, and Info Blast are superheroes with a problem. Well, a lot of problems and they've been flagged by the ISS (International Society for Superheroes, of course) as "not mixing well with the general population." Ouch! Fortunately, their Advisors at the ISS want to help them improve, sending them on a mission to master people skills.
Friday December 12th 5pm
