Principal's Message
|
Dear Parents,
This week, let's focus on safety. We still have children being dropped off unattended in front of the school. There is no adult supervision until 8:00 AM on campus. Please protect your children by dropping them off and picking them up at appropriate times.
Please take an extra moment to use the new, safe walking path that connects the parking lot to the existing walking path from the street. It has virtually eliminated the close calls we have seen in the past when drivers back out of parking spots or come around the corner, causing a pedestrian vehicle conflict.
Thank you, drivers, for slowing down and actively looking for walkers and cyclists. When entering our parking lot, we appreciate you pulling your car as far forward as possible, respecting the crosswalk, and refraining from cell phone use in the very busy parking lot. We would also like to remind you that your child needs to exit from the CURB side of the car to avoid cars that are passing on the left to exit.
Please enter the established line of waiting cars from the end of the line. We appreciate you waiting for the car in front of you to pull out before you exit to avoid back-up accidents.
In addition, we would like to remind walkers that they need to be clear on what their plan is for after school, and if they are not going straight home, that parents are aware and approve of any after school plans.
Finally, please remind your child if they ride a bike or a scooter to wear a helmet and ride safely!
Thank you,
Carol Nenni
