Principal's Message

Dear Parents,

Congratulations to Laura Marks and our 5th grade band students for the fantastic performance last night at WCI.  The band has made strong, steady progress this year, culminating in a wonderful performance along with the middle school bands.  Please mark your calendar now for the end of the year Instrumental Music festival at Las Lomas High School on May 21 at 7:00 p.m.

Wednesday mornings are especially congested days in our parking lot due to all TK and K students arriving at the same time as first through fifth graders.  The line is now backing up all the way to Rudgear, so we remind K and TK parents PLEASE do not park your car in the drive through lanes and walk your child into the classroom.  It creates gridlock in our parking lot and prevents timely arrival of all students and staff.  Drop your child off at the curb with the carpool helper. If you must park, park safely in the spots not reserved for staff (main lot in front of school is for staff) and walk your child in to their classroom.

Thank you,

Carol Nenni

Murwood Principal

Update from Acalanes Union High School District's Measure A

Did you know...

YOU are critical to making sure that we don't lose $3.9M a year in funding - that's about $1M at Las Lomas High School each year. Measure A needs you NOW!

Acalanes Union High School District will never return to pre-Great Recession (2007-2008) State funding levels (based on current State funding formulas and inflation-adjusted projections).  Since 2007-2008 the State has cut education funding by 22% and funding even then was inadequate and unstable.

Local control and the support of the community are critical to maintaining the quality of schools that we expect and our kids deserve.

What are you waiting for?

  1. Mail your ballot TODAY.
  2. Sign up NOW to Phone Bank: http://www.yesforacalaneshighschools.org/support/
  3. Join us May 3-6 to Get Out The Vote. Beginning May 3 at 10 a.m. at Compass Marketing (3446 Golden Gateway, Lafayette), we'll need volunteers to deliver door hanger reminders to our supporters who haven't voted yet.

By foot or by phone, please help REMIND our supporters to turn in their ballots. If you haven't felt the urgency, THE TIME IS NOW!
