Happy New Year and Welcome to 2015!

Services you may not know about
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
Your chronic pain from joints, discs, sprains, and strains can be treated with an injection using your own blood.  The concentrated platelets found in PRP include growth factors among the huge reservoirs of bioactive proteins.  These are vital to initiate and accelerate tissue repair and regeneration:
  • Increase stem cell production
  • Initiate connective tissue healing
  • Bone regeneration and repair
  • Promote development of new blood vessels
  • Stimulate the wound healing process.

New Treatment for Chronic Pain

If you're ready to get off opiods and narcotics, this may help relieve your pain.  A recent survey has shown that switching to topical prescription creams can greatly benefit those who are addicted to opiods and other narcotics.  With nearly 3,600 chronic pain sufferers who were in the study, 83% saw their pain levels cut in half!  We are now introducing topical creams as a treatment for chronic pain in our office.  Dr. Hughes can prescribe a cream made specifically for your needs, and the best part: they are covered by most insurance plans!

Massage and Piriformis Syndrome

Piriformis Syndrome is a neuromuscular disorder that causes pain and hypertonicity in the gluteal area.  This happens when the piriformis muscle compresses on the sciatic nerve.  It has been found that massage techniques can relieve this pain including myofacial release, trigger point therapy, contract-relax proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation stretches, and hydrotherapy heat.  Visit us to learn more about how these treatments can help you.

Ascend to Wellness

Wendy Elkin, Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, and Perrin Elisha, Ph.D., Aspen psychotherapist, have joined forces to address the valley's intense need for helping those with depression, other mood disorders, or cravings for food and other substances that sometimes go along with these issues. They believe that addressing mood disorders from a mind/body standpoint gives the client a more comprehensive and effective approach, providing more relief over a shorter period of time.  These issues often coexist and exacerbate one another, so the most effective treatment addresses both components simultaneously.
