As a MCIRCC Member, you get full access to the newly launched Virtual Institute. What is it, you ask? The Virtual Institute is a web-based tool designed to function like an intranet for MCIRCC membership by providing constant access to information, resources, and feedback networks to enhance our critical care community...and in turn, accelerate your research to the patient bedside.

The following outlines your first time login instructional steps.

Login Instructions

Once your membership application is processed, you will receive a system-generated email with first time login instructions.

 

From: mcircc-vip@umich.edu

Subject: Your access to the MCIRCC Virtual Institute starts now

 

This email will include:

  • One-time accessible link to reset your password
  • Your account username

Please note that this one-time login link is only valid for 72 hours.

 

If your one-time link expired before your password reset was complete, create a new link:

  1. Click www.micircc.org/vip or copy and paste this link into your web browser
  2. Click the "Request New Password" link
  3. Enter the username provided in your one-time login email
  4. Click the "Email new password" button
  5. Use the link provided in this "password recovery" email
  6. Follow these instructions
Account Confirmation & Profile Setup

During this first time login, we strongly encourage you to confirm and complete your account profile. This is information is used to populate your profile in the Virtual Institute's Member Directory. This directory is an interactive tool where users can search out members based on specific criteria. As such, accurate and up-to-date information is imperative in this section.

What is the MCIRCC Virtual Institute?

The Virtual Institute is a team science portal that provides MCIRCC membership constant access to information, resources, feedback, and networks to support collaborative, multidisciplinary research streams and product development initiatives.

 

Essentially it is a website designed to function like an intranet for MCIRCC membership by providing informative and time sensitive updates along with knowledge sharing tools to enhance collaboration.

 

The Virtual Institute was created to accelerate the formation of an interconnected critical care research and commercialization community by closing the divides in geography, uncoordinated schedules, and varying priorities across U-M schools, colleges, departments, and units.

 

 

Who has access to the MCIRCC Virtual Institute?

All MCIRCC members are granted access to the Virtual Institute as part of their membership benefits. In addition, key enablers from across U-M may also receive access. This enabler group includes the MCIRCC Catalyst Team and representatives from the Office of Technology Transfer, Fast Forward Medical Innovation, Library Informationists, Proposal Administrators and others upon approval by MCIRCC.

Is the MCIRCC Virtual Institute mobile friendly?

Yes, the Virtual Institute uses responsive design so you can access using your smartphone or tablet computer with Internet access. You do not need to download a specialized application (app).

 

 

I forgot my username and/or password. How do I get this information?

You may login with either your username or e-mail address (both will work for login). If you forgot your password:

  1. Click www.micircc.org/vip or copy and paste this link into your web browser
  2. Click the "Request New Password" link
  3. Enter your username (provided in your one-time login email)
  4. Click the "Email new password" button
  5. Use the link provided in this "password recovery" email to reset your password

This link will expire after 72 hours and nothing will happen if it is not used.

 

If you receive the following error message when trying to retrieve your password:

 

Sorry [user name/email] is not recognized as a user name or an e-mail address.
