Prayer for Detachment
by DOTMAGIS EDITOR
I beg of you, my Lord, to remove anything which separates me from you, and you from me.
Remove anything that makes me
unworthy of your sight, your control, your reprehension; of your speech and conversation, of your benevolence and love.
Cast from me every evil that stands in the way of my seeing you, hearing, tasting, savoring, and touching you; fearing and being mindful of you; knowing, trusting, loving, and possessing you; being conscious of your presence
and, as far as may be, enjoying you. This is what I ask for myself and earnestly desire from you. Amen.

STORY OF TWO MARTYRS

As members of Christian Life Community (CLC), we enjoy a long history of collaboration with the Society of Jesus. Inspired and guided by Ignatian Spirituality, we desire to be companions of Jesus in this world.
Lay persons and the Jesuits first worked together in Canada at Sainte-Marie-among-the
Hurons. The mission was founded in 1639 by French Jesuits, Frs Jerome Lalemand and Jean de Brebeuf close to where Midland, Ontario is now located

REMEMBERING
FR JIM PROFIT, SJ
|
Father James Profit, S.J. died on Saturday, January 11th, 2014 in Summerside, Prince Edward Island after a struggle with cancer. He was in his 58th year of life and 34th year of religious life. In 1999, Jim was missioned to Guelph, Ontario and the farmland there where he would spend the rest of his life. There he was very creative in the context of the Jesuit Centre for Social Faith and Justice, always with a focus on ecological issues.
|
He travelled to many parts of Canada and the world to lead Ignatian retreats with an Ecological focus, doing ground breaking work in the greening of the Spiritual Exercises. With others, he became a leader in a new consciousness that would articulate a fundamental responsibility of all persons and nations to respect and protect the earth. read more

Dear members and friends of CLC
We are mourning the loss of Fr. Jim Profit, a profound and gentle shepherd who has forged a movement forward for recognition and embrace of a sacred earth. Jim was especially involved in initiating and building the Ecology Project programs and the Old Growth Forest Project on the property of the Ignatius Loyola Center. This very focus of his life led CLC Canada to invite him to discern a call to serve lay people in Canada and around the world as a National Ecclesial Assistant (NEA) through his embodiment of the issues of ecology. CLC Canada will continue to financially support his initiatives particularly with acknowledgement of members from the east to the west coast who work at a national level serving for the greater glory of God. Jim's CLC community life among the lay was with Life Abundant , Central Region, whose members remained faithful to his companionship. In time we hope to hear ongoing memories shared from these few and much blessed members. With Jim's example we ask prayers for strength of leadership that will embrace to fruition God's own dream of a scared earth, in union with a CLC-CVX World Assembly priority, Lebanon August 2013. We thank you Jim for pointing the way.
