Right now Campbell River has 38 businesses listed of which 5 take on line reservations. Cranbrook boasts similar numbers as does Parksville. In our case; Port Alberni, we have 18 listed destinaztions with 2 who encourage on line reservations. The Internet reaches all corners of the world. The Chamber of Commerce encourages all tourism related businesses to consider listing and providing on line reservations through DESTINATION BC.

Congrats to Mike Surrell and the entire LADY ROSE MARINE Staff on the successful purchase of the Shell Waterfront Property. The Chamber of Commerce is very pleased to learn of your continued investments in Port Alberni!

Taxes....

The Chamber of Commerce is supporting the collective desire to promote business investment throughout Port Alberni by way of TAX relief programs that are currently being considered by your elected officials. We believe that employment for our youth and for our Mom's and Dad's, many of whom call other places 'home' is paramount to the well being of the community. Please consider corresponding to one or more of the City Councillors indicating your support for creative measures aimed at encouraging BUSINESS INVESTMENT THROUGHOUT PORT ALBERNI!  And, if you're a business owner looking for help...please consider hiring today! There are programs out there that you can potentially access that will assist you in cost recovery. We are happy to lend a hand!

A new recycling regulation requires B.C. businesses to pick up the tab  for product packaging and flyers.

Please see this link for important information regarding an imminent new regulation that will take effect in 2014
